Today I went to Mers Optical in Kendall and aside from all the reviews I have read regarding the Kendall and Hialeah locations, I was very pleased with the service, I recommend Mers Optical to everyone. Its a great location and even better staff. I used my groupon of $50 and now have my glasses prescription and the cutest glasses ever! Super exciting and cant wait! I could not see myself going anywhere else but here from now on!

The only reason I went here was because I dumped $50 into a Groupon voucher worth $200. Unfortunately everything was so overpriced that my $150 discount was quickly eaten up by frames that cost twice what they do online, lenses that seem to be arbitrarily priced, and a doctor who would not just give me an eye exam $35 but also made me sit through a contact lens exam ($70) which I did not need at all. In addition to that, they have no samples of the differences in high-index lenses and the sales rep knows as much as any stranger who walked in off the street. Add to that the fact that they kept my eyeglass prescription and indicated nowhere on my receipt what lens I actually paid for. This place has fly-by-night written all over it.

In summary:

• Ludicrously Overpriced

• Take every opportunity to up-sell

• Unhelpful help

• ALL SALES FINAL (in other words, they don't expect or want repeat customers)



Do yourself a favor and ditch whatever Groupon you may have bought. It's not worth it.
