My roommate and I had to find a place at the last minute. We found their company on Craigslist which was on 5/13 late in the evening. We gave them a call, they agreed to meet us. Upon arrival we agreed that we would pay $2000 for the month along with a $500 deposit (which is usually the deposit would be one months payment.) Thankfully they agreed that we could still move in with only the $500. We arrived at the location 1518 Drexel Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33141, only to be greeted by the maintenance / cleaning guy & his wife that were cleaning out unit 1B. They advised us that they had left the key in he upstairs unit (12B) for us. We began moving our belongings in when we met a guy named Josh. He came in, collected our money, took photographs (on his personal cell phone) of our photo ID's & instructed us to sign a form which ONLY stated the amount we were to pay per month that we stayed. Josh was extremely unprofessional. He offered us to go to free dinners that were provided by a service on the beach as well as to go out to night clubs and drink with "rich" people. I asked Josh what I should do as far as parking my car, He stated that the company could not provide parking but that he could get me a parking permit for $150 per month. I told him that it was too much & I didn't want to do that. About 30 minutes later )Josh returns, says I can give me a pass for $50/month, I agreed (not knowing that the pass was an illegitimate parking pass) It was a photocopy of a parking permit wrapped in a plastic covering, which my car ended up getting towed from 1601 Euclid Avenue & I had to pay $250 to get it out.) After looking around at the place we noticed the mold on the shower curtain. Later on that evening we experience roaches. I called Josh, who didn't answer. I text him as well as the maintenance guy about the issue. At this point I became upset. No one replied until two days later, it was Josh stating that he had no control over when or who would come take care of the situation. I then called the office, which I spoke to Johnny, who was completely rude & not accommodating at all. He told me I must've been having a bad day and hung up on me. I also advised him that the wifi, which was supposed to have been included did not work nor did the light in the living area (which they came & took care of while we weren't there (even though I asked them not to do anything while we're weren't there.) The next day, someone dropped off a half can on raid in a trash bag. Over the month and half, we encountered numerous insect bites from the door not being properly installed which had gaps both at the top & bottom of the door allowing them to come in. On the 5th on June the cable was cut off and pamphlets regarding how to reconnect (pay out of pocket) were left on each door. I asked a Josh about the cable when I saw him outside & he rudely asked me what I was doing there, I told him I still stayed there, he then stated that he would check on the cable. Which he apparently did not & I Still had not received word back on it. We agreed that we would move out on 6/25 in which Johnny had advised us that we would receive out deposit back either the day of or the day next day. We actually moved on the 24th. Today is now the 27th. Johnny had advised my roommate that we would come pick up our deposit around noon today which I drove all the way up to 71st St. Sat outside for about 10 minutes before he called back & stated that he didn't went to deal with me due to our prior disagreement on the phone 44 days ago. He would not return the deposit & called my friend to tell her that he would not deal with me & only her, that HE WOULD BE FREE after 6PM to meet her to return the deposit. It is now almost 7PM.
