Route 66 Marine Division offers a Regular Cleaning, Detailing and Maintenance schedule of your vessel. It includes different programs to properly take care of your boat’s needs, including complete treatment of heavily oxidized gelcoat surfaces to bring back the original color, shine and mirror like looking. We provide everything from the various degrees of detailing at the top of the boat, to the bottom by performing underwater hull cleaning, running gear, and monitoring and replacement of the zinc anodes when needed. Boat bottom is always cleaned utilizing the least abrasive tools in order to keep the anti-fouling coat undamaged, maintaining its life span. Zincs will be inspected and tracked to determine when they’d be due for replacement. South Florida coasts are known by their warm waters year-round. High temperatures allow for fast and abundant growth of marine life at rates higher than in colder areas. Marine organisms can quickly expand throughout the entirety of the submersed part of the hull. This can affect the running gear (which can result in excessive drag and lead to higher fuel costs), and cause malfunctions of the transducers and knot meters, clogged intakes, and vibrations when in gear. Superstructure Cut & Polish, Wash and Cleaning (Topside) Wash down of all surfaces including non-skid surfaces and removal of all mold build-up. Oxidation removal by applying a combination of three or more types of compound, polish, wax and sealant. Machine Polish and buffing of Superstructure Gelcoat, including transom & swim platform. Stainless steel railings and fitting polished, and rust stains removed. Teak surfaces cleaned and treated, if necessary. Cure of stubborn stains, rust, and oxidation.Inside cockpit polished and all seating and pillows cleaned. All drain holes & channels cleared and cleaned Isinglass treatment Hull Cut & Polish (Above waterline) Washdown with or without acidic cleaners. Remove oxidation and/or any rust stains. Machine Polish of hull from gunwales to waterline in 2 or more steps Underwater Hull works Hull inspection and report. Those images will be uploaded to the vessel profile to help us on the next scheduled service, like knowing the due date for zinc replacement, for instance. Search and Recovery We can recover any object that was accidentally dropped in the water. Eye glasses, anchors, hand tools, propellers, jewelry, etc.
