Attorney Patricia (Pat) Breckenridge is extraordinarily knowledgeable, conscientious, organized, efficient, and—above all—ethical in managing succession cases. My mother and I enthusiastically recommend Ms. Breckenridge for any legal matter concerning wills, trusts, and estate planning.



We were referred to Pat Breckenridge after a horrifyingly poor experience with another lawyer. We live in the Chicago area, and my mother needed an attorney to represent the estate of our uncle, who lived in New Orleans. Our uncle had developed Alzheimer’s disease and aggressive prostate cancer, and my mother found herself in the position of managing his affairs. The original lawyer, who had inherited my mother’s case upon the death of a senior associate whose name was listed in our uncle’s will, possessed (by his own admission) extremely limited experience with estate law. Astonishingly, this lawyer does not own—or even know how to use—a computer. Imagine interacting with an attorney in the 21st century concerning such crucial affairs—and s/he neither has a professional email account nor perceives a need to establish one. Furthermore, during our initial consultation with this attorney, he promptly declared that his routine practice in succession cases is to collaborate with another attorney who is more experienced in this area of law; together, they would charge a PERCENTAGE of the estate’s net worth. By contrast, Pat is scrupulous about billing by hours worked. And she is a dedicated, hard worker. Incidentally, her rates are quite reasonable considering the depth of her knowledge and experience.



My mother and I will forever be grateful for the recommendation to contact Pat Breckenridge. Were it not for her involvement as the attorney representing our uncle’s estate, the case would have devolved into a protracted, complicated, nightmarish mess. Pat thoroughly and efficiently managed all the routine aspects of the succession, the intricate complexities, and the inevitable roadblocks with consummate professionalism and attention to the finest detail.
