Provided by YP.comThis apartment complex seems OK at first glance, but once you have lived here a while you learn differently. We have some third world stuff going on around here.
When I did my walk-through inspection for move-in I checked everything and found the dishwasher didn't work. It comes on and makes noise, but the only thing that even gets wet is the bottom of the dishwasher. They checked it off the list as fixed. I told the office again it wasn't working but they insisted it was. Being as how I was talking to a brick I quickly decided since I don't do much cooking anyway it would be easier for me to just do my dishes by hand and use the dishwasher as a dish drainer than it would be to argue with the idiots who didn't want to maintain the property.
Which sets a perfect tone for having just signed a year lease. LOL! And for the upcoming adventure of living here.
The drain pan under my AC unit overflowed and made a pretty good mess by the time it was discovered. I have to give them credit, they were quick about getting over to rip the carpet off the floor in the living room. They pulled the ruined padding up and threw it in a pile next to my front door. They put a big industrial fan in my small bathroom turned so it would blow under the carpeting to dry it out. A week later I had to call them to remind them to come fix the carpet. That turned into another several days. When they finally came to fix the carpeting they were going to leave the moldering padding laying at my front door. I had to call them back to ask them to please remove it. They still didn't take the fan. Two weeks later I saw a maintenance man working another flooded unit just down the way and chased him down to come and get the fan from my apartment, which he was only happy to do since he need it then.
There was a broken down dishwasher left sitting outside my door in the breezway for nearly three months, all the way through the entire Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. Holiday guests were very impressed. I called about it two or three times, but the junk didn't sprout legs until well after the first of the year. I don't know if maintenance finally picked it up or if it was the junk collector I called.
Apparantly the company that manages the property is too cheap to pay for adequate trash removal. The dumpsters get full to overflowing. Naturally when the dumpsters are full residents begin stacking their trash next to the dumpsters. On more than one occassion I've seen the trash piled so high around the dumpsters until the pile expanded to surround a ten foot circumference around the dumpster.
Be wary about following the conventional wisdom of having packages delivered to the apartment office in the event of your absence from home at the time of attempted delivery. Several times my packages managed to disappear somewhere between the notice left in my mailbox and the apartment office. I since have all my packages held at the post office and have had no further problems.
Twice I paid my rent in full well in advance of the due date and twice they came knocking on my door with late notices. Twice I had to prove to them they had already received the funds on time and in full.
When your lease is up they want to strong arm you into signing another lease by doubling your rent on a month-to-month lease or shorter term lease. Not pretty. Maybe kin to AIG. LOL!!! Certainly the same mentality operating in this company. The hired help that executes the administration, well, the unexpected third world conditions you bump into around here speak for themselves.
