The owner, Barbara Sheele cheated our family out of money. Sunstar improperly installed our unit. Finally, we contacted a different company to correct the problem Sunstar Heating and Aire created.

Sunstar Heating & Aire and Barb Sheele are an excellent example of a brutally broken business. Just an outright sham. We are an older couple in our 80’s and we’re not very good on the computer nor the internet. We finally got around to find the federal liens and various complaints against this company. But for us it was too late. Barb Sheele at Sunstar Heating & Aire took advantage of us and will take advantage of you too! A long wait. They said 9AM and actually didn’t arrive until 1130AM. After all of this, they tried to blame me. Their curse words are certainly not appreciated. Most disturbing is their inability to do what they said they’d do. They certainly had no problem trying to charge us. They said they fixed our furnace (heater) but it worked the same as before they worked on it. Not at all. They said, “It is working as designed.” And I replied, “To not work?” They gave me the impression they are on illegal drugs. Certainly the employees have low morale. Speed and not quality is their focus. Finally I got an attorney that resolved all of this. Also, they failed to greet us when first meeting me and my family. They kept eating and smoking while working. Avoided eye contact with us. Their technicians actually complained about the company to me. We advise avoiding these corrupt people and looking elsewhere.

We had an extremely negative experience with Sunstar Heating & Aire. My wife and I expected service performed for an average cost. The work performed by their technicians was done wrong. Their team is Second to All. The Sunstar Heating & Aire employees are terrible. Providing customers with top notch service is not their priority. Sunstar Heating & Aire is not a winning team. They are at the bottom of the barrel of their industry. They have no accountability. Our air conditioner was low on refrigerant. Sunstar Heating & Aire undercharged our unit at installation and it leaked. They should have fixed the leak, tested the repair, and then charged the system with the correct amount of refrigerant. Sunstar did NOT do that. Sunstar technicians failed to have the refrigerant charge exactly match the manufacturer's specification. Finally, we called Mason Mechanical Heating & Cooling. They fixed everything and said the work done by Sunstar Heating & Aire should be considered fraud.

I am David Kreitor. We had the misfortune to request Sunstar Heating and Aire to repair our air conditioning machine. I am in the process of bringing legal notification to the owner Barbara Sheele. The inept actions by this company have been documented by Howard Air and George Brazil Company. Please get several quotes/bids prior to authorizing this company to do anything to your property.

Unfortunately, Sunstar Heating & Aire provided a substandard level of service. Apparently, they improperly connected an electrical wire to the wrong place, damaging our unit. They were only several minutes late each visit. Finally, we had a different company assist us and everything went fine. With two small children and a pet, we obviously need reliable air-conditioning service. Sunstar Heating & Aire failed to provide that. If you don’t the care about the mentioned issues, they might work out for you. For us, their actions are not acceptable.

Sunstar is a great company. I am not sure what all these reviews are about but my understanding is that they have resolved or tried to resolve every issue ever presented to them, the have no BBB rating which indicates nothing has ever not been unresolved. One person is repeatedly reporting things that had issues with a "son" who has not worked for this company for over 8 years. Very sad that people continue trying to ruin a business ( who lost a law suit with the son) and who has served the community for over 30 years with a great reputation in the Valley. Don't believe everything you read...reasonable prices ..great customer service....

My name is Peter Franklin. This company, Sunstar Heating & Aire, will be a big problem for you. If you go to the BBB site, type in their name, look under the under their Customer Reviews tab, you can read the numerous issues over the years. Additionally, if you look on sites like Facebook, Yelp, Yahoo, Topix, Yellow Pages, Super Pages, Home Advisor, Porch, Trust Link and many more, you’ll see the horrific reviews for Sunstar Heating and Aire for many years. I discovered all of this too late. If you want good service, you really need to go to an established reputable company like George Brazil, Howard Air, Hendels, Sun Devil Heating & Cooling, Croffoot Heating and Air Conditioning , etc. Sunstar Heating & Aire will try to take advantage of you.

The first indication of trouble with Barbara Sheele and Sunstar Heating Aire was a semi-hostile greeting. We always felt uncomfortable and intimidated by Barb Sheele. Her anxious first question was about how she would be paid. Not, what’s wrong, how can she help, etc. Finally, when they did show up, they were one hour late.

The extremely poor experience we had with Barbara Sheele is only surpassed by the frustrating low-quality service Sunstar Heating & Aire provided. We would NOT advise anyone to use this company. After realizing our mistake, we finally called George Brazil. They fixed all of the problems Barbara Sheele and Sunstar Heating and Aire created. It's really depressing to have to deal with this. See the dent on our unit they provided "free" of charge. This was next to a pile of trash they also left for us to clean up.

I thought Sunstar and Heating was a trustworthy company. I was very wrong. They worked on my air-conditioning unit at my house. They increased their original price and didn't really fix it. This is not good for a widowed senior citizen with a limited income.

Barbara Sheele of SunStar Heating & Aire was at first pleasant. But she later turned rude and quite hostile towards us. She was quick to take our money, not so quick to resolve several issues. Her technicians left a mess. After their work, the unit doesn’t work properly.

To our great regret, we hired Barbara Sheele at Sunstar Heating and Aire to install a new air conditioning unit. Two days after the installation, the unit broke down. Yes, broke down and while it was over 100 degrees outside. Her comment was, “Are you sure?” “You should have called earlier.” “That’s the manufacturer’s responsibility”. “And let me know if you have any more problems and I will try to help…” Is this the type of company you want to install your air conditioner? I didn’t think so.

Sunstar and Aire has a real problem keeping appointments and being on time. They didn’t bring the correct equipment so they had to come back again, late. The technician had a bad attitude and wasn’t professional. They wanted money upfront prior to showing up. Finally, they didn’t have the skills to appropriately repair our unit and still wanted to charge us the full price. To add insult to injury, they left trash on the ground. If you use Sunstar Heating and Aire, we recommend you ask for references in writing and keep a copy. I don’t think they have any.

I had an appointment window of 8-10am, and even got a confirmation call. No show by 10, multiple phone calls (3 or 4). I took off of work, and missing out on earnings, and won't be able to take off again in the near future. They finally show up and ask me “is it that time of the month for you?” Sunstar Heating and Aire installed then installs a faulty air conditioner. They said, “There’s nothing they can do. That’s the manufacturer’s responsibility. That’s our policy.”

This business is untrustworthy. They attempted to raise the price on work they had already given us a "written" quote on. They left a mess. As with many contractors, they were always late. I suspected they were going to be trouble when they parked right in front of our garage door.

Sunstar Heating and Aire is a pretty unprofessional business. They showed up late. Left a mess. Changed their price, to increase it of course. Then, didn't really fix the air conditioning unit. We called somebody else and it finally all worked out. We wouldn't even call Sunstar in an emergency.

Not good, not good, not good!!! The repairman didn't fix the air handler properly. He left a mess and overcharged me. Looking now for a new company with a brain and honest management.

Because of Sunstar Heating and Aire, we spent $1500 we shouldn't have. We should have gone to Home Depot and bought an air handler and installed it ourselves. If you don't mind paying a lot more than is required and don't care about customer service, this company is for you. Good luck!
