I love this place

I have been going for almost 2 years every Saturday morning. I have become good friends with all the employees there. I have and still get to be the mascot for the hokey pokey, help with games, and hang out with everyone. I love this place and will probably go for a long time after today.

Ok.... I would have put a 1 st...

Ok.... I would have put a 1 star rating, but I know the people mean well.

Pros:

* During regular weekdays (the ones they are open), the rink is pretty empty, and the employees let you skate fast, backwards skate, and do tricks.

* When the employees aren't stressed out by all the people there, they really care and are kind.

* The pizza is REALLY good.... but see the cons.

Cons:

*The place always stinks like feet.

*In the summer, it's not a rare occurence that the air conditioner isn't working

*There are some creepy people that hang out there.... people who skate really fast and close to you and scream swear words (they get reprimanded but not hard enough I think), people who lift up their shirts and apply deoderant in front of everybody, people who dress like Lady Gaga, and others like such.

*They don't play the most appropriate music... sometimes the DJ forgets to bleep out the swear words.

*There are some crazy employees that don't let you skate fast AT ALL..... Sometimes, if you're skating slightly faster than everyone else.... everyone who is standing/skating and talking to their buddies.... they will scream at you in front of everybody. Some of them are pretty strict. They make little kids cry.

It's just not a family friendly place. It needs quite a bit of maintenance, and it always smells bad... and the employees are often too busy to help you, and you usually wait like 10 minutes in line at the "cafe" to get your slice of pizza, and the arcade games are usually broken and you have to get them to fix the ticket dispenser. Everything it expensive. If you are a money-loaded teenager, go for it.

I take my kids skating every s...

I take my kids skating every sat Morning, I have to say we went to this rink b4 and didn't like it. So we gave it a try again today. it's 10 min from our home. It Was worse today then the first time we went. The lady Manager( Annette) has NO PEOPLE SKILLS OR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS... I asked her if she could help me at the skate counter, she said yeah but it's gonna be a minute.. So I waited and waited, then got mad because if it wasnt for the "people" she would not have her job.. I don't care about yr shift change customer service is everything.. I guess I will just have to drive 25 min to the west side to Rollaro where that staff is friendly and would drop what they are doing to help a paying customer out! yr loss sk8 land ! i'm with the other person on the star thing but had to give at least 1 star.. yeah sk8land is a BIG ZERO !

Horrible (I had to give it at least one star, but it rerally should say zero)

One of the worst experiences of my life. The place is run-down and crummy, with a horrid stench. The pizza is greasy and unhealthy. The workers themselves are just down right filthy. The skate rink is minuscule, and the skate rentals look and smell like they haven't been cleaned in a month. You need to climb down stairs to get to the rink after putting on your skates. Never again will I go to such a filth bomb, and you shouldn't either.
