My husband and I b...

My husband and I began looking at wedding sites and servicesonline two years before our wedding date. None of them spoke to us the way theLavender & Old Lace site did. There was just something special about thisplace! I remember going home at Christmas and showing the website pictures tomy family and they were all in awe.

We went to an Open House thefollowing February and we fell in love with the place. We booked it instantlywithout having to look anywhere else. It was even more gorgeous in person thanit was online, which says a lot!

Everything about ourexperience was perfect. We were allowedto bring in our own vendors or choose from their preferred list. We were requiredto use their bar service but we got to supply our own liquor so that helpedwith our budget. The bartender was great helping us to decide what we needed to stockthe bar with so we didn’t buy too much or too little. She’s a great bartender and was able to mixanything asked of her all evening long!

The ceremony was gorgeouswith the wedding party lined up on the patio prior to walking down past theaviary full of doves. I was so nervous, but Kim was there directing everythingand talking with my dad and I as we waited for our turn to walk down. Shecomplimented me on how beautiful I looked and what a perfect gown I’d chosen. Shetook charge to make sure everyone went down at the right time. I had 6 littleattendants between 3 & 5 yrs old that listened intently to her and happilydid just what she asked.

I didn’t need to add extraflowers for the ceremony because of all the flowers surrounding the ceremonysite. I’m sure you could if you wanted to, but I loved it just the way it was.

I appreciate the staffimmensely! Anytime leading up to the wedding, if I had a question or concernvia phone or email, I could count on getting a quick response. That’s extremelyhelpful when you’re planning a wedding and juggling all those details! I haveto admit, it was easier for me to do it with emails, that way I could keeptrack of the all the answers.

I loved the ballroom for myreception. The raised ceiling with the huge chandeliers and all of the stainedglass windows were some of the first things I fell in love with. It was bigenough to comfortably seat all of my guests (180) with gift tables, candydisplay, food tables plus the dance floor. I also liked the vases they let our florist use forour centerpieces. That cut our floral bill considerably and we were able tojust lift the flowers out to take home with us afterwards. Everyone commentedon how incredible it looked, I’m still getting compliments six monthslater.

All that being said, it was trulythe BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I don’t think it could’ve been as successful withoutsuch an incredible venue and Kim’s thoughtfulness and guidance as the eventcoordinator.
