Dr. Lamb & Dr. B. are TERRIFIC EXOTIC DOCTORS! Our Moluccan Cockatoo also gives them both a AAAAA+++++ rating! And, the whole supporting staff are wonderful, too!! Thank you all!

Our experience was excellent and we appreciated the professionalism and compassion from all staff involved.

People with exotic pets should expect to make hard decisions that may cost more money than they want to spend, but complaining about the results of their own decisions and not getting free miracles is irresponsible, and also unfair to the provider.

The doctor's advice and prescribed medicine wasn't free or cheap, but it saved our snake's life and we are grateful.

Had to bring all of our sick 6 ferrets here for insulinoma & adrenal disease tests & medicine. There prices are beyond ridiculous & they never end up fixing anything. Its insane how much money you will spend to help a sick pet if you are told it is going to help. Don't make the same mistake we did & spend tons of money on blood tests that, only lead to no results. Maybe they are better with other pets but when it comes to ferrets theses guys are a joke with a hefty price tag. If your ferret is old & sick, don't waste money, time, & emotions trying to extend their life, they are not humans & looking back all we did was put them through more misery & give this place our hard earned money.

Took our rat, Tucker, in on Saturday, spent more time in the waiting room than we did in the examination room. Got charged $200 only to return less than 2 days later, shove out another $800 and leave him over night at their facility. He died alone over night and it took us calling them to get the news. When we were saying goodbye to him they kept pushing payment payment payment despite us setting up a payment plan the night before. They literally slid the estimate on the table next to his body and said "whenever you're ready"

This is not the first experience we've had with this veterinary clinic (in fact in the last 6 months we've taken 4 of our rats in-- only to have two of them pass despite extensive effort on our part to give them a chance.)

If you are looking for a so-called "exotic specialty" vet clinic with a 50% mortality rate and who will always remind you that compassion comes with a hefty price tag (at least $1,000 a pop!) THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!

I would like to say that this is a great vet and I trust them with my pets. I feel they know what they are doing and they charge a regular expected amount for a vet, but they also offer ways to save money. They accept Care Credit as well. I've been going here since 2010 and I don't ever want to go anywhere else. Also, I think the staff and doctors are very kind and gentle. I would recommend this vet to anyone.

I can not in good conscience r...

I can not in good conscience recommend or refer anyone to this veterinarian or his facility. apparently his ultra high status in the profession has made him forget what is really important, the medical side of sick and needy homeless pets. also apparently his office staff is geared to making the appointments and collecting the high priced service fees from upper class clients who can afford it.

Please take the time to read other reviews of Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital on other sites and you will see that BirdieMan's opinion is not in line with that of other clients. Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital provides substantial discounts to legitimate non-profit exotic pet rescues that have 501c3 status. We have excellent working relationships with many exotic pet rescues. We even offer substantial discounts to rescues that are in the process of applying for 501c3 status. We have donation boxes in the waiting room for clients to support rescues and have a bulletin board that rescues and our clients use to communicate. Our pro bono work includes free emergency care for injured wildlife brought to the hospital, and we then transfer these patients to appropriate wildlife rehabilation facilities. I did give substantial discounts for the medical care I provided BirdieMan's patients. BirdieMan and I had a good working relationship. He had a complaint about the front desk manager. I investigated his complaint. The front desk manager has worked at the hospital since it opened in 2007. She is the first person most clients see on arrival, the last person most clients see when they check-out, and the person most likely to be on the phone answering your call or calling to check how your pet is doing after its visit. She has dealt with thousands of clients and consistently receives praise for her customer service. In four years, she has ranked highly on customer satisfaction surveys. She has dealt compassionately with clients who are upset and worried about their pets, and clients regularly tell me how much they appreciate her caring touch. After careful consideration of BirdieMan's complaint, the front desk manager's statement, and statements from other staff about their interactions with BirdieMan, I informed BirdieMan that he should find a different veterinary hospital for his rescue. BirdieMan sent an email to me stating the following, "If you should change your mind about the discounted rates for my rescue, I would consider continuing with you, giving you referrals, and having your link on my website. There is no question about you and the techs, and the quality of the care." I declined to bring him back as a client and that decision appears to have caused BirdieMan to write this poor review. We strive to offer the best veterinary care possible for exotic pets, and to provide clients with practical choices for their pets' veterinary care. We work to come up with an affordable veterinary care plan for your pet that fits your lifestyle, keeping in mind that the well-being of your pet depends on the well-being of your family too. We work with several exotic pet rescues and have excellent working relationships with them. Our approach to all patients include a thorough physical examination, offering appropriate diagnostic tests and treatments, counseling clients on appropriate care for their pets, and following-up with calls and emails to find out how patients are doing after their visits. My front desk manager and all the employees at the hospital are committed to providing quality care for pets and a compassionate environment for clients. Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital's website has extensive information so that clients may research our facility and staff before making an appointment. There are online biographies of the veterinarians, descriptions of the hospital and its services, and over 150 free articles on the care of exotic pets. There are many reviews available on yelp and other websites, as well as Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital's Facebook page. that contradict BirdieMan's opinion. I wish BirdieMan and his rescued pets well and hope that he finds a veterinary hospital that is more compatible with his needs.
