This is the music store to go to! They have the best prices for top of the line instruments, soundboards, and music lessons! Also, when you purchase an instrument, they take care of everything. They give you a case, extra strings (if a strings instrument), and everything else you might need. It is so welcoming when you go inside, it feels you are a part of their family. One of the many different reasons that I chose to go there is that Rubino's Music & Sound is the oldest music store around. It has been in business 46 years and counting. Note- Their location is now 7375 Broadway, Merrillville, Indiana.

My Mother took her 1956 CF100 guitar in for service . It needed new tuners , and a new pick guard that was comming lose . I watched as she opened the case , as both our jaws dropped to the floor . Thier Luthier had ruined her guitar . They left the heat iron in the guitar (To loosen the pick guard) TOO Long , and melted it in to the finnish ! They also changed her ivory tuners and bridge pins with Non period cheap plastic ones , and did not give her back her old tuners as she had requested ....The used 6 individual tuners instead of the 2 inline 3 each tuners . They had re drilled new holes ....What a Mess !!! ...They ruined her Guitar , and pocketed the ivory Bridge pins and expensive ivory tuners, & replaced with cheap plastic ones , and did not put the old ones back in the case ! I went to talk with the owner & he said he was not responcable as they farmed out thier repairs to someone else ! Not responcable ? I will NEVER again walk in thier store much less do business again !

Don't even waste your time going to this store!Why would you go to rubino's if you can get the same $14.99 guitar strings 2 blocks down the road at guitar center for $5.99.Why get a guitar(been played by customers for at least 6 months)for $499.99 when you can get it in 5 different colors(new in the box)at guitar center for $299.99 with a case. Jim Rubino would keep the case in the back of the store and try to sell it to you with the guitar.If you dont have enough for the case AND the guitar he'll keep the case and sell it to someone else for full price.Thats how he works!He talks about warranty repair work and then when something breaks he suddenly cant help you and you have to call the company yourself.Then pay all kinds of shipping costs and wait 6 months for it.Or!!!!! Dont bother!JIM RUBINO is sinking with the economy and he'll screw anyone and everyone to stay afloat.If you cant sincerely help people without seeing dollar signs YOU'RE JUST TALKING SHIT!He screws churches worst!

The staff was very informative and knowledgable. I'm glad they were able to cater to the horn player. Keep up the good work!
