I moved to the area about a year ago and Roxana's is my favorite place to get dinner. Although I usually get the Adobe Chicken skewers, everything I have ordered is fantastic. The ingredients are always fresh, the dishes are always flavorful and the owners/staff friendly and helpful. If you are looking for some fantastic Mediterranean food, this is a place you must try. Or if you are just looking for a good sandwich or taco - this is also a place you must go to. My fiancé likes to stay in his comfort zone and order typical foods and he loves this place too. He even enjoys an authentic dish from time to time. It's a few blocks off of I-65 and is very easy to get to. Hands down - this is the best restaurant in the area. Forget the chains restaurants near-by and visit this wonderful family-owned restaurant with quality food.

We were looking for fantastic ethnic fare in the Merrillville area (a scarcity) and this restaurant came up. YELP reviewers all gave it several stars and we wholeheartedly agree. The food, which is mostly of Afghan origin as are the owners, was fresh, made at the time you placed your order and absolutely delicious. I recommend the vegetable pakora which come with a yogurt dipping sauce and a mint (I forget what its called but also for dipping). I had the curried yogurt chicken over a special rice and my partner had the lamb shank. Both were wonderful. We took some rice pudding home which we had the next day. The daughter of the owner was our waitress and she was so sweet and we talked to her for several minutes. Reasonable prices. Just cannot understand why this restaurant isn't packed on a Friday night. No alcohol is served and I do not believe you can BYOB, but you might want to call and ask. This is definitely going into our regular rotation!!
