I went to get my sons first hair cut and it was the worst experience ever. Im not going back there. Michelle was her name and she grabbed my sons face and left her fingers marked on his cheeks. I don't think she has enough patient with kids, I'm not a stylist but at least you should try to be nice and loving to the kids before giving a haircut. Paying $25 for that kind of haircut and experience it was worthless!!!!

We drove out to Long Island to get our daughter's first hair cut here. It was a fun place and the staff was nice. The hair cut was pretty good too. They have videos the kids which makes the process go smoother.

The shop itself is great! Kids get to sit in cars or can play video games while getting their haircut, plus there's toys availbel for them toplay with while they wait -- so the experince is great for the kids. It's much more fun & less scary than a standard barber shop and the staff is unfazed by children who have temper tantrums or fidget.



As with all hair salons however, the quality of the haircut will vary depending on the hairdresser you use. One reviewer had a negative experience -- and from her description I know exactly who cut her son's hair. I have gone there a few times and know which hairdresser does the best job with my sons, so I always request her. Even so -- don't get your hopes up too much. They'll do a good job with basic haircuts -- but if you want something more cutting edge/stylish (like I do), be sure to give very clear directions, bring photos and hope for the best. And if you find someone who does a great job -- maintain the relationship. If you know you have a big occassion coming up (like a photo appointment) and you want your child to have something different from a basic buzz cut, bob or bowl cut, do a test run in advance. And if you don't like the haircut or hairdresser you get he first time around, the convenience of the location (for those in the Bellmore/Merrick area) and the overall experince for the kids, I would anyone to give it another shot with a different hairdresser.
