I went for my birthday because they lie to you and say that you can receive $30 off of your bill when you purchase a entrée. The catch is that they tack on a almost 18% tip as if it's mandatory even though it doesn't have that as a requirement on the coupon. I absolutely hate this place, Ironically the food is good but they are really horrible with cheating their customers for financial gain. I won't mind leaving a good tip especially if the service is great but I definitely do not like being forced to give a high tip as it is the law of this establishment. I say go to A -Tan off of Poplar or try another one to where it's not so over rated.

I went to this location yester...

Demanded a tip and then wouldn't give back my card.

I went to this location yesterday at 6 pm. The service was ok, and the chef while cooked good food did very little tricks and was very quiet. However the problem came at the end. Me and my wife had both finished are meals before the chef was done cooking the steaks. I asked the waitress for our check. When it came I had planned to put the food on my card and pay for the tip with cash as that account had a limit I was getting close to. So I told the waitress to only put the 47 dollars on my card, 10 minutes later she came back asking me how much I was giving for a tip to put on my card. When I said I only wanted to put the base cost on my card she said then that I had to give one of the suggested tip prices. (There was only me and my wife, 2 people). I said excuse me are you saying I have to pay that. She then back tracked and said no but everyone pays one of those. I again said no just the 47. She then walked away and we waited 15 minutes well after the rest of the table had left even though I had asked for our check before they even got all of their food.

After 15 minutes because I timed it I went up to the manager and asked for my card back. Another minute later I was able to get it and I told him about what the waitress had said that I had to pay a tip. He blew me off and just said goodby and walked away from me. I was being calm and cool cause I was annoyed.

Mind you this was my birthday celebration in which 1 person came over to sing and they just handed me a scoop of ice cream with Carmel. The person sung out and that was it. It was a horrible experience and I'm very glad this was not my actual birthday just me using my coupon. I've never had anyone demand a tip much less not return my card to me.
