Caution:
discuss what changes are needed for the dress to fit (darting/construction issues) BEFORE YOU BUY!!!
And make sure the items and dollar amounts are correct. They overcharged us $20.00 for my dress and had demonstration accessories on our bill even though we hadn't agreed to buy them. (They did eventually refund $20.00)
I bought a size 14 dress that needed altered (I'm a size 4) and have the straps changed from off-the-shoulder to on my shoulder. (My guy is 6'2" and I needed to raise my arms unrestricted.) they assured us it could be done that way.
Over 4 fittings, it became clear the dress would not accommodate what they promised.
They said "no refunds".
They declined our offer for us to pay the maximum alteration fee quoted if they kept the dress and refunded the difference. (The dress could have been taken back to its original size and resold)
So, I ended up with an unfinished dress I couldn't use and memories of the stress and money wasted from this experience.

This was the worst experience i had. Please to all brides bides maids and MOB, be cautioned that Gowns by design will scam you. This is place does BAD BUSINESS. Be aware that the consultants are very rude and have no interest in making this a fun or memorable experience. This tuned me off right away, so 4 of the other girls went to another dress shop right away. Unfortunately one girl really liked a dress there and decided to go with it

As soon as we came to our appointment, they offered no help in trying dresses on and helping to fit them. The owner of the store Jen fitted my bides maid at a size 16 at 6 months pregnant and told her at the time of the wedding she will be 7 1/2, and in her professional opinion she thought to give her a little bit more room she should get a dress size 24 and and reassured her that this will be her ideal size. Not mentioning that everything over a size 16 will be and extra charge, which is was.

Lets just say the dress came and and the bide and brides maid are now able to fit into it together.

BE VERY CAUTIONED....they will order a bigger size for you so they can up charge for alterations. They charge to do the hem, the waist and the bust, so if they order you a dress that clearly huge in all those areas they are able to charge more for the alterations then what the dress actually cost.

Jen has nothing but $$$$ in her eyes.

PLEASE keep this store off your list!
