Headstart Nursery grows more watermelon transplants than any other nursery in California and provides quality vegetable transplants and excellent service at competitive prices. The company supplies growers throughout California, as well as Mexico, Arizona, Oregon and Washington. It grows almost 400 million transplants each year, including celery, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes, watermelon and lettuce. Headstart Nursery has been growing vegetable transplants since 1979, when the nursery was founded to grow bell pepper transplants for nearby Christopher Ranch. In 1993, Headstart Nursery expanded to the Coachella Valley, where it is the leading supplier of cauliflower, bell pepper and watermelon transplants. With more than 400,000 square feet of greenhouse space in Mecca, the company is to provide quality plants and superior service to growers throughout Southern California and Arizona.
