Everything you'd expect out of a local diner. Big Red sounds like a big b. Don't rely on her assessment.

Good home cooking, fresh. Service was friendly and prompt. Price was so reasonable, portions not stingy. Own creations and fresh fruit cut every morning. Nostalgic with B&W pics of Old McHenry on the walls.Atmosphere is cozy, warm....Below review just plain not true and mean, speaks of the people who left it. I will go there over and over and bring family and friends.

The owner and her husband the chef came to my garage sale, handed me a card and said its the best in town, great prices, huge portions, super friendly. So we went. One Sunday there was a line out the door, we didnt have time to wait so we went another day totally looking forward to it! WHAT A JOKE!



The waitress was ok, not great. The food was ridiculous. I had a denver omlette with hahbrowns and toast. The toast tasted like it was retoasted a few times, the hashbrowns were more like VERY BLAND mashed potatoes, and the eggs were rubber. I cant believe I even paid $5.75 for this! It was like all the food sat out on a buffet under lights all day the previous day and then was just reheated for our meal. It came out super fast...just enough time for them to microwave the horrible food, at least it could of had some flavor but it even lacked that. I would be ashamed to say I had anything to do with the restaurant
