A wise and quick thinker, he may have had a sarcastic word or two to tell someone but often before that person would catch on and have the time to get offended, David would distract them with gifts of cucumbers or jars of fig preserve showing that he loved to ruffle feathers, but never wanted to intentionally hurt anyone. The main thing we can all learn from David is that we should live life by our own terms. All choices in life come with pros and cons, but the choice of finding and sticking to your true self gives one a deep peace and joy. David's often "off-centered" way of doing things for him was the only way to do things, the only way that he knew how to live life sincerely and on purpose. Authenticity was his brand.
