David W. Butler High School, founded in 1997, is a public school serving students in grades nine through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 2,000 students and is a part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District. It offers a wide range of college preparatory, work force development and general curriculum courses. The school provides classes academic programs in English, math, social studies, fine arts, science and foreign language. Its student services department offers substance abuse counseling, academic guidance, career counseling and crisis intervention. The school s medical science, teacher cadet, and parenting and child development classes provide field experience for students. It provides opportunity to students to participate in several clubs, such as Foreign Language, fishing, chess, explorers, interact, key, dance and photo.
