Can I do a negative?? My sister was admitted to Massena Memorial Hospital. She was there for six days. She was admitted because she was unable to keep anything down, at all. All they did was multiple blood test. Four days into her stay I asked the nurse if they were planning on doing an EGD or Colonoscopy. I was told they only do that as out patient. I then asked, how can you justify that when she is still keeping nothing down, her system is empty, and all you are saying is that so far all the blood work is showing nothing is wrong? She said, sorry we only do those as out patient. My sister was released two days later, still sick, she was told that she had colitis and a smoker and drank too much iced tea. Approximately two weeks later she was visiting her daughter in Syracuse and her daughter took her to upstate because my sister was still very sick. After just the first cat scan cancer in her pelvic bones was found, multiple test later, STILL INPATIENT, they have found that she has Stomach CANCER, also metastatic lung cancer, intestine, head and yes I did mention STOMACH. Which if an EGD had been done she would not have been released with specific instructions not to drink ICE TEA! She is still IP at Upstate and yes I am contacting NYS DOH regarding this! Please do not trust them with your loved ones or yourself!! Thank you!
