We contacted Sears to tune up our Snow Thrower. The price we were quoted was $139 +tax and a separate charge for parts. We supplied the spark plug and were charged for the oil. However, we were charged $169 +tax for the tuneup and were told it is a diagnostic fee. This is the second time Sears has pulled a bait and switch on us, the first time was a refrigerator repair, quoting one price and trying to charge a higher price after the service person showed up. The service person was over 1 1/2 hours late and while the job was completed satisfactorily the service was not satisfactory. Calls to Sears were frustrating, the customer service people just said that’s the cost and did not transfer the call to a supervisor, even after many requests. Do not use Sears Repair unless you want to be taken advantage of.
