My husband was told that Heartland Credit Union was a good place to go if you needed help or a loan with less than great credit. He called for information, and was told that yes, they helped people with bad credit to get loans and/or improve their credit. (His mother and himself lost everything in a flood, had to use credit cards, and credit went to crap. Filed bankruptcy finally.) So we went in and applied for a small auto loan. The lady called later in the day to tell us "Due to the statement from the credit bureau we can't give you a loan at this time. Once your credit improves please feel free to try again. Goodbye." That was it. No answers, no emotion, and no offers to help improve his credit, which is something they advertise. I do not recommend this place at all. Steer clear, you aren't likely to get any help if you actually need it.
