I am very unhappy with my treatment at Maryville Orthopedic. I had a big fall and was unable to put weight on my left leg. I went to a walk-in clinic. They gave me crutches and referred me to Maryville Orthopedic. I called and they didn't have an available appointment for 2 weeks and I would have to see the nurse practitioner. I hobbled around for 2 weeks and saw the nurse practitioner. She said she thought it was fine and wanted me to try to put weight on it and it would heal but she would schedule an MRI and I could cancel the appointment if it gets better. I asked about a brace and she said they were expensive and that she didn't think I needed it. The appointment for the MRI was of course 2 weeks out. I tried my best to put weight on it and tried to go without the crutches that the walk-in clinic gave me like I was told to do. It was still not better when I finally got the MRI, a month after I hurt it. The MRI showed that I had broken my fibula and I was told that it should have been stabilized a month ago to ensure that it healed properly. I went back to Maryville Orthopedic and was allowed to see a doctor. He said that it had already started healing and we would have to see how it does. That was months ago. I have constant knee pain and have been told that I will need a knee surgery. I believe I would have healed correctly if I had been allowed to see a doctor and not the nurse practitioner at Maryville Orthopedic. At least I like to think they would not have me trying to walk on a broken leg. I wouldn't send my dog to them! Thanks a lot for the knee that pops every step I take and the constant knee pain. Oh, and the up coming surgery that could have avoided.
