No stars. Horrible people, judgmental if you are not from TN,have no idea what they arendoing, very rude and very dangerous. A petition should be started to shut this place down. Almost killed my husband and myself every time we went. Go to Fort Sanders. Blount county is horrible in every way

I am not in great health, but I would rather die than go to Blount Memorial Hospital. I've even told my hubby to take me to any Knoxville hospital, even if the extra time to get there means that I might die. Blount is less than 10 minutes away. It takes 25 to 30 minutes longer to get to any hospital in Knoxville. I don't care. I wouldn't even take a dog there.

Hospital sounds like a nightmare, I just moved to the area, I guess LeConte is close enough to me. They seem very organized, I brought my spouse there. Everyone was extremely nice an attentive.

I have been in the hospital as an employee & patient, and I have no patience with people not doing their jobs. Its the worse thing when you are a patient and people are not taking care of you & your needs. To me it is easier to take care of someone, get them done either an admission or a discharge saves a lot of problems & people getting annoyed

I hate when nurses let a patient sit for hours, its nice if they would stop by you and let you know what is going on periodically. Somethings cannot be done immediately, but let the patient know.

Sounds like Blount Hosp. needs to take some pointers from LeConte.

DO NOT go to this hospital. I went up here for stomach pains Sunday night (6/28/15) and they said I had a UTI, and they did a CT scan and said my gallbladder was PERFECTLY fine. Few days later, I'm still hurting, only this time even worse. I was literally screaming out in pain. Went up to UT and they did an ultrasound. My gallbladder is FULL of gallstones and they said I don't even HAVE a UTI. Please do not go to Blount Memorial. Your life could be at risk. Thank God mine was caught in time and wasn't anything more serious than gallbladder problems!!

The worst hospital on the planet. I'm surprised it's still a standing structure. Their going to treat the wrong person badly someday.

Terrible terrible place! I we...

Terrible terrible place! I went in for food poisoning Dec. 2010. The emergency room was fairly responsive and got me where I needed to go, but after that it was all downhill. I was sufferning dehydration and was sent into radiology for an ultrasound, they scheduled my time wrong so I sat in a hallway on a stretcher for two hours while my dehydration worsened (on the opposite side of the hall as the emergency button I might add) then was finally wheeled in. After this I was finally given fluids, a little too late because my body went into septic shock which almost killed me. We spent 12 hours trying to get a doctor to see me and the nurses kept saying he wasn't at the hospital and would be here soon. Dr. Cox finally shows up and apologized for being late, "I was watching TV in the breakroom." (all of these are actual quotes by the way) "So how are those antibiotics working?" Turns out I was never given the antibiotics...whoops! Guess that's why my body became septic. "Oh...well we better get those." He turns to leave and I say, "Wait, what's wrong with me Dr.?" He says, "Oh we forgot to take samples...I don't know but we will send you the bill." He then left and thats all I saw of him.

Emergency Room

I had a severe allergic reaction to something, perhaps deck stain and/or insect repellent on July 1, 2010. My symptoms were intense itching on the palms of my hands and body, swelling of my tongue, lips, eyelids, nose and hands and a rash over most of my body. My husband rushed me to the ER of Blount Memorial Hospital. When I arrived, I was taken immediately to a room and a swarm of care specialists jumped into action. Within minutes my vitals were taken, an IV was inserted, I was given injections and everything was done very quickly and professionally. I have to say I was very impressed with my care. It didn't take long for me to begin to feel much better. As I think about the whole experience at Blount Memorial, I am amazed with the quick response, the way the team of several worked together seamlessly and the level of care I received. I was kept for a couple of hours to be sure I was okay. I have had experiences in the past with other issues at this hospital and many were not as positive as this one. However, this episode as well as another experience in 2008 where I had both of my knees replaced 3 months apart have left a very positive impact on me. Thank-you, Blount Memorial.

Don't go to this hospital

I am new in this area. I went to this hospital on Wednesday 5/12/10 and was really disappointed. The Emergency Room was dirty - that was scary and it was like you were lost in the system! After 6 1/2 - 7 hours in the ER I was admitted to the cardio ward. That room was also dirty!! Wall paper was pealiing off the walls and water was coming thru the ceiling tiles! At 2-3 in the AM the nurse came in to get my history. I had been in the room since around 8-9 that night. I was hooked to a heart monitor and taken out the next morning for a stress test. It took the people on the cardio ward 2-3 hours to rehook me to the unit that monitors that unit after returning from the test. Maybe this hospital needs to hire more staff that care and especially take care of the cleaning needs. Hospital are a place where you can pick up staff in a heart-beat. My dad died of MRSA from a "clean" hospital in FL. I was scared the entire time at this place!
