Dr. Scott Groat was raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1977. He went on to the University of Dayton in Ohio on a football scholarship earning a degree in Biological Sciences in 1981. He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, (now Kent State University), where he graduated as a member of the Pi Delta National Podiatric Honor Society in 1986. Dr. Groat then chose to further his training by completing a residency program in Memphis, Tennessee. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Groat resides in Shalimar, Florida with his wife of 30 years Teresa, whom is a Kindergarten teacher. They have two grown children and presently three grandsons.
