It will take some doing to knock FAD off the Nigerian restaurant top spot it has occupied since opening in March 2010 The Cobb County location may not provide luxurious surroundings, and some venues may have more intrepid menus, but for food and atmosphere FAD is in a class of its own. Behind the inconspicuous exterior, you'll find a well-presented airy space with walls decorated with colourful African art. Well-heeled Nigerian families and other in-the-know ATL dine here. The restaurant boasts a simple, unchanging menu of Nigerian classics such as egusi with spinach, or efo riro - spinach stew served with meat or fish and pounded yam or eba (a staple made with gari). Full explanations come from the friendly staff. King prawns with jollof rice was spicy and plentiful, although the rice was unusually soft . Asaro was soft and tender, with a generous portion of spicy tilapia providing the perfect accompaniment in texture and taste. Service is Excellent - Yet although not a place for a quick bite, FAD is a culinary experience to savour.Less
