I have been using David Austin to do my taxes for over a decade and until this year, I haven't had a problem. We went into his office in late March, had our taxes prepared and electronically filed, and paid him over $100.00 for doing so. We were to receive a refund from the State. When July arrived and we had not received a refund check, I started trying to call David Austin. I repeatedly left messages for him, but he would not call me back. I finally got on the phone with the Georgia State Income Tax office and found out that they had NO RECORD of our tax return. We were forced to file again via the mail which meant our return was filed late and incurred penalties. Needless to say, we will never use him again, and I will advise others not to use him either. My advice is to steer clear of this guy because he cannot be trusted.

February 1st 2015, I sent my documentation to David Austin to prepare my taxes. I had hired him in the past and had even sent my mother to him; neither of us had any problems with his service till this..…

David and I had been on the phone through the year and before I sent him my paperwork because I needed guidance since this would be the first year I would have to pay vs receiving a return.

Again, I had sent him my documentation at the first of February but by March I had not heard from David and decided I should call and check the status of my filing since I needed to budget according to what I owed.

Needless to say it took a few more weeks after that to get him on the phone. When I did speak to him and asked him the status of my filing, he said…”I thought I’d already done yours?”. I let him know that I hadn’t received anything in the mail yet nor had I received a phone call from him? He then said…”Well, let me look here…oh! …here they are…they got shuffled to the bottom…I’ll be sure to get on them right away.”

After a few more weeks with no communication, I called again and got his voicemail. A few weeks later…it’s April 14th and still no communication…I call and get his voicemail AGAIN. I decided I needed to get in the car and drive the 45 minutes to his office to find out what was going on.

When I arrived, approached him and asked him why I hadn’t heard back from him…he’d had my taxes since the first of February…he said…”I lost your paperwork”.

I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!!

I said…”And you weren’t going to let me know???????”

HE FLAT OUT LIED!

I made him write on a piece of paper that he’d file an extension and pay any penalties. He still waited to attempt to do so till late on April 15th. I knew I couldn’t trust him so I had already filed my taxes with someone else by then…thank goodness. BUT SERIOUSLY??? I STILL CAN”T BELIEVE THIS GUY!!!!!



WARNING…THIS GUY IS COMPLETELY UNTRUSTWORTHY AND UP TO NO GOOD!!!!!
