The Mapleton City Office does well to promote the exchange of information between the city and it's residents. This includes suspicious individuals, child molester(s) activities, reports of vandalism, and other local criminal activities. If you see something, say something.

Numerous errors committed by city officials and employees. These errors prolong the length of time, and cost of projects. These costs are usually pushed upon the citizens through higher taxes, and special assessments.

The 2015 Audit of the City of Mapleton, includes a Risk Management report that warns city officials of the possibility of legal action due to accounting errors, and the mishandling of funds and documents. City official acknowledged the threat, but stated that due to limited funds, nothing would be done to correct it.

Unfortunately, a number of projects have advanced (New School, 1st Street Project, Water Tower, and the widely reported Maple Pointe Boulevard Sidewalk Project), each with their handful of errors, and each error pushed on the tax payers.

It will only be a matter of time before the numerous misdeeds, negligence, and incompetence catch up to the Mapleton city official and involved employees. Sadly, if this results from legal action, it will again be the citizens of Mapleton picking up the tab.
