We adopted a dog on Sunday (3/28/21) through Dog Gone Inn/ DGI Paws. There is not a separate page for DGI Paws and every email received was from the daycare not DGI Paws. Animals posted are on Dog Gone Inn Daycare Facebook page and ads say to contact the daycare for information. We also met him at the daycare, hence leaving our experience here.

As others have already stated the daycare and lobby were filthy and it smelled horrible. There were zero cats in the enclosure so no reason for the smell other than a much needed cleaning. Her response was we could always volunteer there!

Had we not met the dog outside and knew right away he was the one for us we would have left immediately and missed out on a great dog.

We asked for his paperwork before we left Sunday and were told she would email it over by the next morning. I was hesitant to leave without it but gave her the benefit of the doubt as she was normally closed Sundays. She did email us a screenshot of some of his medical paperwork on Monday and the rest on Tuesday. We were told she doesn’t do physical copies even though we signed the contract on paper in her presence.

We later found out he had been adopted through DGI Paws and returned to her within the last 60 days. She made $1300 off him in less than 3 months.

She said she checked our references. We have proof she did not call any of them, not even our vet. The vet stated they do not give verbal references and have no requests or copies of one sent. Good thing we aren’t horrible people.

I will give her credit for her quick emails and working with our schedule. She was also very polite but a tad distracted. The photographer she hired for something else came at the same time as us, She said that they were an hour late. As a business person she should have made them reschedule for later or wait until we were finished. It made it harder for us to ask her questions and get the information we would need.

I would recommend adopting elsewhere and not leaving your animals in her care until she makes much needed changes.

The owner is responsible for my dog's death. She claimed it was "carbon monoxide poisioning", and had my dog cremated, without my consent, so no investigation could be done. Her father, the lawyer, has had my reviews pulled from other sites, so it is only a matter of time before this one gets pulled. Bring your pets anywhere but here.

On the evening of Saturday, 7/11 around 9:30-10pm , there were fireworks near the village. At the time, I was enjoying ice cream at Sno-Top. I could hear two howling dogs from the fenced in area behind Dog One Inn from the other side of the parking lot. I attempted to knock on the business door, and called the business phone number, and got no reply. I walked around to the back of the building, and looked over the fence to see two dogs left with no access to the indoors, (the doggie doors were firmly shut.) and the the white one was obviously terrified by the fireworks. They left dogs unattended, with no human supervision, outdoors during a fireworks display!! Further, on looking in the window, they have cats inside the premise overnight, (possibly dogs too, I couldn't see any), but no discernible fire sprinkler or suppression system... II spent more than an hour in the parking lot, it was clear there was no staff member on site, and no cars anywhere near the business. If you're going to pay to board your dog here, you may as well leave them in your back yard at home, since that is what they appear to do here!

The Dog Gone Inn is always clean. The dogs are able to play with each other all day...They are cage free...woof woof. Leah is a great caretaker and trainer.
