Driver forced me to listen to ...

Driver forced me to listen to loud rap music in the cab the whole trip. There is only one tourist attraction in Manchester, the Currier Museum, and the driver I got stuck with from Manchester Taxi didn't even know where it was. I told him the address as soon as I got in the taxi, and he proceeded to rather trust the crosstalk from the radio of several of his colleagues throwing out guesses of what they thought the address was. I had an appointment to see the Frank Lloyd Wright house, and could not be late, Manchester Taxi cannot be relied upon.

I called just as I had every day for the past few days of my stay in Manchester, the number on the card for Manchester Taxi the first driver (who was very good) had given me. I was relatively pleased with the service up to now, and was willing to forgive the driver who got lost on the way to the Currier Museum the day before. I thought I would call this company, and they would promptly send a cab to my hotel just as they had in previous days.

I made the mistake of calling on New Year's Day, when I guess the regular, polite, dispatcher who answers the phone was having a day off. Instead, when I called I heard on the other end of the line the terse and indifferent tone of voice of a young woman who said simply 'Taxi'. I asked for a taxi to be sent to my hotel. She said 'no'. I said 'what do you mean, no?'. She told me she was 'joking'. I told her this was a confusing thing to say to Manchester Taxi's customers, the call ended after I was told a taxi would be sent to my hotel.

I waited half an hour, no taxi. I was relying on this company to get my to my motor coach connection out of town, and I could not be late. At the half hour mark I called Manchester Taxi back. The same young woman, with the same appalling phone demeanor answered the call. I asked her where the taxi was, and when it would be coming. She brazenly simply hung up on me.

I called back. I told her this was no way to treat the company's customers, and that I had never encountered any problems with the phone operators of the company during the rest of my visit to Manchester when I used this company a lot. She hung up.

I called back. I asked her why she was being so rude, and 'joking' and wasting my time and that I had to be at my destination to leave town within the hour. I could sense there was something very amiss, something very unusual about this phone operator for Manchester Taxi, as I had spoken to at least two other ladies who dispatch taxis for this company and they were both very professional and helpful.

The rude young lady informed me that 'her father owns Manchester Taxi and she can do what she likes'.

Ah ha! I now had my answer. It was New Year's Day and the owner of Manchester Taxi had let his entitled little princess of a daughter man the phones, and she obviously felt she had nothing to lose by messing customers around, confusing them, and being outright hostile to them by lying and claiming she was sending out a cab, then purposefully ignoring the request for a cab, and repeatedly hanging up on customers.

I got a call back to my cell phone, from a man, her father, the owner of this unprofessional taxi company. He started cursing and verbally abusing me over the phone. He made no attempt to apologize, or let me explain what I had encountered during my fruitless attempt to get his daughter to dispatch a cab to my hotel. I know his name, it is listed in the financial reports the company filed with the state regulators. He threatened me so I have chosen not to name him.

A search of the state government of New Hampshire business registry for Manchester Taxi shows the company is listed as 'Not In Good Standing', which does not surprise me given the fact they treat their customers like animals.

I urge any visitor to call any of Manchester Taxi's competitors instead of them.

This isn't actually a review ...

This isn't actually a review as such, more of a complaint. Earlier today,(Jan 13) I had

called to request a cab for my daughter to be picked up at her place of work. I called

at 8:23 this morning and after a couple calls back and forth, finally made

arrangements for my daughter to be picked up at 12:00 .But after the arrangements

were made, and I had hung up thinking things were all set....my daughter called them

back from her work at 11:40 and told them the cab was no longer needed, as she

had other transportation. She spoke with a male employee.

At 12:09, I received a call from the same female employee, asking me if my daughter

still needed a cab. She said to me, "We're there, and there's a female here who is

going to her street , but she doesn't need a cab". I told her I wasn't sure, but to let me

contact my daughter, and I would call her back directly. She agreed and hung up. Less than 4

minutes later, the same female called ME back, saying that "the call was for 12,

we're leaving because it's already a quarter past, this is ridiculous"....and this was

what cheesed me off..."and THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME"


Wow, how professional.


If this woman had been doing her job, she would have KNOWN the cab was

cancelled, and not actually have *gone out of her way* to be rude and condescending

(ie: calling me back pretty much just to be snotty) . I was quite offended by this

employee's attitude.That's no way to run a business and I'm sure the owners

wouldn't want a person with that sort of unprofessional demeanor dealing with their

customers.

Not impressed. This business only got 1-star because I couldn't give fewer.

I had taken a ride with this Taxi Service today (March 9th, 2016) from a doctor's appointment, and the ride was very pleasant. The driver was friendly and had a pretty good sense of humor. I would definitely use this taxi service again.

Ok Just to let everyone know the company is under new management!! We have black cars now and everything has changed. Our customer service is much better and we treat everyone the way they should be treated like a human being.....I was appalled with the reviews that I read this would never happen with us. Our drivers are screened and even if there was an incident it would be dealt with swiftly. Customer service, promptness and cleanliness are our main goals. Don't hesitate please give us another chance!!

CALL ANOTHER SERVICE - 669-8765 Taxi Inc, Queen City Cab 622-0008, UBER.COM I was just screamed at by one of there drivers in Taxi # 20 with NH Plate # 349 3490 because I did not let him cut in front of me while he was attempting an ilegal lane change. I called Manchester Taxi Service and the response was - you cannot be courteous and he hung up on me.

Taxi driver became furious whe...

Taxi driver became furious when asked to give change and made a big scene, his name is Brian Scott?(not sure about his last name) and threatened me with physical violence. So I had to live without my change and when I called to complain to the company about the taxi driver they wouldn't pick up the phone. I would avoid doing business with this company if possible.

Outstanding service

I totally agree with the person below, I'm guessing that rude female was "LA", I had bad service yesterday but today I called this morning and this other female was very understandable, I was able to make arrangements with no problem. I know Manchester taxi has days with horrible dispatchers, and days with nice ones, so we can't hate that company with the one bad egg, we just have to make sure they get rid of that rotten egg! So you Manchester taxi get many praises from me and my family with more service I'm sending your way thank you!

The girl in question is the daughter of one of the employees and I apologize to anyone who had delt with that. My name is my own and will not have I slandered by a child.

i was surprised

I had heard bad things about Manchester taxi and had called other cab companies to get to work and back. After several other companies made me late I decided to call them. I've been using them for two months now and I haven't had an issue since. I don't know what everyone else went through but I've always been treated with respect.

The driver was on drugs and, made me late for work so that he could take me out of the way in an effort to rack up the price. I will NEVER ride with those junkie crooks again!!!

Manchester Taxi Services sucks!

I ordered a taxi from Boston Logan to Bedford NH. The taxi was 30 min late (I can't believe that the driver didn't know the airport layout!). Then he made me walk around with him looking for his car (he forgot where he parked it!). I was exhausted after the "red eye" flight and ended up waiting for 1.5 hrs until he recovers a ca. I had thoughts about leaving and taking a Boston cab, but he begged me to wait and I was compassionate and understanding. When I tried to ask for a discount of the ridiculous fare of $125, he just laughed. After he brought me home, he locked the doors and didn't let me out until I paid him in full, just like I was some kind of a criminal. That't how he paid me back for my kindness. I tried to reason with the owner, but she was extremely rude and obnoxious. She didn't agree that 2 hours of wait should be compensated. She called me blind, because I didn't see a non-existant snowstorm. She drove me to tears. Very unprofessional, un-human, unbelievably cruel attitude. These people are sharks.
