My practice focuses on the treatment of adults, children and families. The goal of treatment is to help family members to find solutions to problems and to create a family environment that enables family members to flourish emotionally, cognitively, and socially. I use a combination of approaches, including parent coaching, cognitive-behavioral techniques, emotion focused techniques, and an emphasis on identifying and changing problematic patterns of interaction. I treat children and adults. My areas of specialization include childhood disorders, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and problems of self regulation (addictive behaviors). I was formerly the Director of the Department of Psychology Research and Training Clinic at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. I currently supervise psychologists in training in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
