This restaurant is better suited for smaller parties but they are not equipped to handle large groups. They have a poor reservation system (automated) and are not very handicap accessible. God forbid if there would be a fire. On the upside, the food is great and the portions are large.

No doubt about it...this is the best German food I have had stateside. Not everything was as I expected. The Cordon Bleu had a real smokie/peppery sauce...I'm used to a dark brown gravy...but, the sausage was absolutely the best wurst...it's as good as you get in Germany. And the sides were awesome...no pomme frittes but the mashed potatoes, green beans, and red cabbage were nothing less than perfect. My wife had the weiner snitzel and that was awesome...the mushroom cream sauce was exactly as I expected.Don't stop at the dinner...the deserts are tempting. It's a long drive from Leesburg...but, I should have made it years ago.

Best of German cuisine

Authentice german food. I was stationed in Germany for seven years. This is the real thing! We travel 150 miles roundtrip at least 4 times a year to go to The Bavarian Chef. Reservations highly recommended.
