My name is Marnie Dymond. I am...

My name is Marnie Dymond. I am the owner of, "Dog Pause." I opened, "Dog Pause" in July of 2011. The majority of my customers are happy. They are happy with the prices, discounts, services, customer service, pick-up and delivery services offered. Unfortunately it is not possible to please every one; but my goal and priority is to make sure every customer that walk through these doors, is served as they should be. I love what I do. I would like to express myself: I am amazed how customers go with out grooming their dogs for months and expect me to complete the job on a certain schedule. I have had dogs come through here with nails growing into their pads and cut the nail having to literally pull the nail out of the paw, with puss and blood oozing out. Dogs have walked in here so matted that they can barely walk due to the matted fur pulling their skin and so tangled they can not stretch out their leg or arms; they can not even be bathed because the fur is one solid piece of a knot covering the entire body. I have had dogs so infested with fleas and ticks it was nearly impossible to remove them all, and the fleas had left black feces on the tail eating through the skin causing raw flesh on the dogs tail and body. While all this is happening; it puts me behind schedule; because I have to take time for the care of these animals. This is what groomers go through in their career; people who do not take care of their dogs and then expect perfection from the groomer who has to make an attempt to clean up the mess caused by the owner. It takes more time on some dogs, to cut their nails and hair more than others. Dogs need grooming; all shapes, sizes and coats. Especially long coated dogs need to go to the groomer frequently, if the owner is unwilling to brush their dog on a daily basis, and give them a regular bath when necessary. Since every owner who visits, "Dog Pause" has no idea, what kind of a mess the groomer is dealing with that day, maybe they should be patient while their dog is getting groomed.

This place is a TOTAL DISASTER...

This place is a TOTAL DISASTER. I took my schnauzer in for a puppy cut by the time we got them there was absolutely NO hair on my puppy and I mean NO hair. My poor puppy does not even look like a schnauzer now. The "manager" Frank promised me over the phone that he will be the one grooming him & that I should be able to get him in 2 hrs. I went to drop the puppy off @ 9:30 am which was my appointment time and found only 1 person running the grooming & the front office. The person did not even know what paperwork to fill out, how to run the register & was NOT friendly. I was more nervous then my puppy. 4 hrs later I called the puppy was not even touched. 3 hrs later all of his hair was gone & seemed like that lady was not even using the trimmer with any extensions coz I can see skin on my schnauzers legs & chest. Please DO NOT take your schnauzers here for sure you do not know what you will get in the end.

I am the person who personally groomed the two Schnauzers mentioned above. When the owners came into my shop I let them know in advance, that I would not be able to get to their dogs for hours even though they had an appointment. It was a busy day and we had a lot of walk-ins and interruptions. I asked them if this was okay and if they were willing to wait they said yes. It takes 2 to 3 hours to groom each dog. Some time it is shorter other time it is longer. It depends on how badly the dogs fur and grooming needs are. People need to understand that when neglectful owners allow their dog's fur to matte up in knots to the point where it is connected to the skin it can not be saved. It has to be shaved off. When the owners came in to check on their dog I showed them the progress of their dog mentioning I had not gotten to the stomach where the mattes were. After seeing the mattes they told me to take off the matted fur and do what I have to do; so I did. When giving reviews please be honest and tell the truth. Frank is not a groomer or a manager.

These folks are total loosers!...

These folks are total loosers! They ran a add in the paper to promote their place. Took in more groom jobs than they could handle, promised me my dogs at a specific time but did not deliver untill 6 hours later after 10 pm at night! I called at 9:15pm to check progress and was presented with double talk, excusses and rudeness. My dogs were and are traumatized!. I will never go back to this place to have my pets groomed!!! Who does this in the real world? They tried to compensate by delivering my pet to my home after the grooming, they should have done the job for free for all the incompetence they displayed. The writing is on the wall, good by forever.

First of all, this customer brought in four dogs all long coats and he was a walk-in; he was not even on the schedule. One of his dogs was neglected and the fur came off all in one piece like a pelt; and this takes extra time as not to hurt the dog. We did our very best to groom them in a timely manner and we were not able to finish the task on time. We delivered his dogs to his house and did not charge him for any services. He needed to have more consideration for the length of time it takes to groom dogs especially when he neglected his dogs by waiting too long for their grooming. His dogs were not traumatized; they were really good and a pleasure to groom and very patient dogs and they held perfectly still. I had fun with them as I was grooming them. I feel sorry for his dog and the pain caused by the matted fur. I desire to please my customers and this includes the dogs; they are customers too. In addition we made no promises to this man about his dogs about any time of their return. We can not do this; because their are other appointments through out the day and interruptions. Go buy some good dog clippers and sit there and groom all four of your dogs from bathing, blow drying, ear cleaning, nail trimming and a hair cut one right after another without taking a break and see how long it takes you to do it; all by your self.
