My fireplace started smoking back into our house. Our next door neighbor had used A B S and recommended them So I called and got price and made appointment I really didnt have the extra cash but didnt need my house to catch fire. I could not believe it when they showed up inspected our chimney and informed me I didnt need it cleaned it had smoked back only because the damper somehow got shut. The biggest shock !!!!!! They did not charge me a penny since they were already in the neighborhood

I chose this company for 2 reasons - 1. They were local and I always try to hire locally and 2. they could come out the day I called. Warning signs should have gone off when they were 45 minutes late for the appointment, they did call and say that they were running late (30 minutes after the agreed time). While they did clean and inspect my chimney, in the process they managed to rip the wires from the motor in my wood stove. The person who came out even handed my spouse one of the wires and said that they had "found" it lying in the fireplace. Imagine my surprise when I tried that evening to have a fire only to find out the blower no longer worked. I called ABS and they said that they could come out and re connect the wires the following day. I told them that all of the wires would need replaced because they had been caught under the wood stove and scraped, and had exposed wires showing in several places. Long story short - They came out the next day and re-connected the wires (INCORRECTLY and only taped the spots were the wires were frayed not replaced) and still managed to rip them out again as they put the the stove back in the fireplace. I ended up having to call a wood stove repair man AFTER 5 ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH THAT COST, BUT YOU CAN IMAGINE. I guess if you only need cleaning and inspection they may be okay, but if you have any stove inserts, etc. I think I would look elsewhere.
