Seriously?

I have been going to Reese golf course for many years without any major issues. Today however will make me rethink next time I want to play there. My father and I were given an empty ice chest in which we were planning to fill with a few waters since this course does not have any water buckets on the course. We were then told that we could not supply our own water because TABC requires this. Although I am now a nurse, my former job was bartending and I have never heard anything about TABC regulating water. I can understand that the courses like to sell their own soft drinks and alcohol but to deny letting paying golfers bring a few waters on a 95 degree day when there are no water buckets on the course is completely ridiculous. It's almost as if the manager set back this morning, decided it had been too long since they had a lawsuit and put in a plan of action to let someone have a heat stroke on the course. Anyway, the course was pretty fun but those kinds of rules will prevent us from golfing at Reese any time soon.

Avoid Reese Golf Course!!!!

I just went to Reese for the first time on Saturday 8/14/10 with a couple of friends. We had a tee time at 1:00pm and showed up early as usual. We checked in and payed for our round 3 hours early so we could grab lunch and hit the range and putting green. We were informed that they didnt have any carts available, so the driving range was out since it is not within walking distance. (it sits on the opposite side of the course for some reason)

We cam and checked in at 12:30 and were told it would be about 1:10 before we could tee off since they were out of carts. No big deal, 10 minutes is not that bad. Then after waiting till 1:30 we went back in to check on the status and the old balding guy behind the counter was rude, unhelpful, and just didnt seem to care or want to help. He said about the carts quote "We only have 52, that is usually enough for the weekdays. We need around 75 on the weekends but why would we want to purchase more that we would only use on the weekends?" What a moron! Why would you want more carts on your busiest days....yeah I wonder. I then asked him why they take so many reservations for carts if they dont have them. Its like a rental car company renting 10 cars to 40 people. Then the manager came in and was just as rude unhelpful. His disdain for the customers was apparent. Talking to the other 20 people standing around waiting for carts, everyone was annoyed and vowed never to come back. Some guys were walking to the 18th green and snagging carts when other players finished; then cutting in line as there was no marshal to organize any of it. We tried to get a refund but were told that it wasnt possible. So we had to wait till 2:30 to tee off on our 1:00 tee time. And the cart we finally got was almost out of juice and missing the steering wheel cover that holds the score card. And the gps kept showing the wrong hole for some reason. Which a couple of times resulted in one of using the wrong club (once hitting the club house on a par 3 that said 190 which was actually 145; however that part was awesome lol)

Other bad things : $38 is way to much to pay on the weekend when you cant even get a cart. Not to mention the greens and fairways were just in moderate shape. And all of the water containers were completely empty. The bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. As well as we were yelled at by other players on 2 different occasions for doing something (totally within the rules and regulations of any course) because they didnt like it. The every day players there are a bunch of pre madonnas that dont realize their course sucks.

Horrible experience, and I will never go back. And I will go out of my way to let everyone else know how bad that place is. Avoid Reese at all costs! You would have a better experience going out to what used to be Elm Grove and just randomly hitting balls around.

Dear Mr. Hart/"manager"

After spending 5 minutes discussing a pricing mistake by the "manager", which came to be 92.40 for two green fees?? (32 + 32 = 64... not) he proceeded to give up on basic mathematics and told us to leave because he was having an OK day... then called the number I used for a tee time to tell my friend, who is black, that we were mutherF*CKers!!! (seriously... which is why I am taking my own time now to properly display what customer service is) so If your looking for a mediocre, over-priced, blatantly rude setting with several missing greens THEN this is the PERFECT course for you!!!!!

Dear Mr. Odom, the price is 32.09 x two this equals 64.18, the two hippos that you call girlfriends have to pay 14.95 to ride in a cart this equals 29.90. So, the math is being explained to you again. 64.18+29.90=94.08. This is price that you should have be paying. Please play golf and take you lies to another golf course as you are not welcome here. We prefer people that are smart enough to do math and man enough to confront a problem instead of hiding behind a computer. If you would like to discuss this you may do so. My phone number is 241-5223. Reese Golf Center welcomes all people and we run a very good business. We love people and enjoy all golfers coming to play. We charge a certain price to play. We will not have a debate about the price. We will not have idiots trying to argue to get lower pricing. Usually we do not let people that are not playing ride for free when we are extremly busy. Do not demand that we change our pricing structure for you. This is not a used car business, our price is our price. Your letter stated several lies. If you leave a rotten apple in the barrel you lose all the apples. You are that rotten apple. Please go elsewhere. All others are welcome. We would love to have all others and our customer service is second to none, if it is not let me know and we will fix it. Jeff Hart
