Parents beware! This place is fundamentally dishonest. To a naive student, the lifestyle is good, but to a parent paying the bills, just go elsewhere. Read the contract before even dreaming of living here. They use bait and switch tactics, and don't honor the closeout agreement. My son lived there and it was an endless series of headaches with billing and fraudulent charges. I can't say recommend strongly enough to stay away. This outfit runs other apartment complexes in the area. Learn about them too. The clearest indication is that The Cottages are not a member of the Better Business Bureau.

Buyer beware this place is run by used car sales team. Pressure you into signing overpriced and ethically challanged, at best. Do not sign a lease here without first consulting a lawyer.

The cottages is a great place to stay in Lubbock. First of all it is very close to campus and Walmart . I live in a four bedroom cottage and it is very nice. The price is a great deal for living where the location is and you get an excellent workout room, study room, and tanning beds included. I would suggest it to everyone!

Inside the apartments are very nice. The office staff is very helpful and respectful. The apartments, though, are way too expensive for the security (or lack of) that the renters receive. These apartments are broken into often during the summer and winter breaks. For the money renters pay, The Cottages should have a security guard at night at least. I would much rather live in a safe apartment with older features than a newer, nicer apartment that I do not feel safe in.

This place has the dimensions of the rooms all out of order and should lower their rates for those who must live in the smaller rooms. This is my only complaint about this place and that the rent is not only pricey but raising their rates for the 2010-2011 school year.
