Thomas Jefferson Middle School accommodates students from throughout the district. Based in Louisville, Ky., its communications magnet program includes a journalism component, featuring a computerized writing/publishing center, where students learn a wide variety of writing, listening and reading skills. In broadcasting classes the students develop skills in electronic publishing, computerized television and multimedia production, using professional software and techniques. The school also offers advance program, English as second language (ESL), orchestra, chorus, student technology leadership program (STLP) and the patriot bake shop.
