We went there to get a price on getting a fireplace installed and they were supposed to email me the price... its been three weeks. I guess they don't need the business. So I will take it else where.

Grate Balls Afire came this week to service my fireplace and I was so impressed with their knowledge and thoroughness. Vickie was very professional and knowledgeable. They truly cleaned my fireplace. I didn't realize with other companies that it hadn't been properly serviced until Grate Balls Afire came to my home. I am truly impressed and would recommend them to anyone.

Fair. Very efficient. Easy to work with. Great deal and no pushback in hauling away the old insert which had to have caused them severe backstrain among other things. Looking forward to really cranking up the stove and how it heats the room. I'd recommend them to anyone about great stoves and very efficient ones to boot. JRJ

We bought one set of gas logs for one fireplace and a fire box and logs for a basement ventless fireplace along with the box. GBoF framed the fireplace surround (floor to cieling) as well as the mantle and referred us to a company that covered the framing in rock to match upstairs. Everything went well and the price was very competitive. Very happy with the results.

We purchased a wood stove and a fireplace insert this past summer. Answered all questions about the product and we were very satisfied. Jan 2011 our electric bill (house is all electric heat, water heater, lights,etc) was only $84. Normally it has been $275 or more in January.

I read the reviews and it almost made me go somewhere else. I checked out google reviews and they all seemed to be positive. I also checked out BBB and found that Grate Balls Afire had a A+ rating. So I gave them a shot and was I happy I did. The wood stove they put in works just like they said it would. When they finished the installlation, Doug spent about 20 with us goping over every aspect of the stove and even did the 1st burn with us. I am super happy with these guys.

these guys are ones to avoid. When they arrived late for the installation, they were in a huge huge and left a big mess, which they tried to hide by covering it over with storage boxes that I had near the connection site. They never return calls and are not happy to hear from you. Now my unit doesn't work and they won't come to fix it. Wish I had never bought here.

Wish I had read these negative reviews before I gave these folks my cash! Poor service. Never open during post store hours, rarely return phone calls. Had to get the Better Business Bureau involved to even get a response. When they did respond to the BBB they were dishonest. In a nutshell...I gave them a lot of money for something that has never worked properly.

Not a high class act. Does not communicate well with delays, poor installation - had to come back at my beckoning. According to a separate code inspection his work will not pass without additional work. Scratched my hardwood floor. When he runs into problems he states that "its the best I can do" and does not seem to have the expertise to handle anything other than a simple install. I do not trust what this guy says. If there were someone else in town that sold Jotul Stoves I would NOT buy from this guy.

I had Grate Balls Afire install a vent free gas set that looked like a coal burning fireplace in my home. There have been a few cool evenings and mornings when I have been able to turn it on. It is just so cozy. I now feel like I really have a fireplace. The people at Grate Balls Afire were great to work with and did what they said they would do at the price they quoted. I got just what I wanted‎

I don't usually write reviews but after reading some of these I had to voice my thoughts. I just have to tell you I love my gas logs (double sided)! I use them hours and hours on end this winter and savored every minute, After being afraid that they'd look fake and send my gas bill soaring. I am thrilled to say they look beautiful and my bills have been identical to last year despite this awful deep-freeze. My whole house is warmer. It took me two years to spend that money but now I can say it was worth every penny.

Very helpful in answering all my questions regarding a self-performed wood stove installation (didn't even buy the stove from them!), advised as to the appropriate components required and ordered them, price was comparable to on-line companies,

Terrible service at this place. Very hostile to questions about wood stove installation; never completed job; what was done wasn't to code and wouldn't pass home inspection. They just wanted to make the sale and didn't care about customer safety and concerns. I will never go back.
