David A. Sun, M.D., Ph.D., is executive medical director of Norton Neurosciences Institute. Spearheading interdisciplinary programs and collaboration, he also serves as co-director of the Brain Tumor Center and provides clinical leadership to the institute’s epilepsy and movement disorders programs. Dr. Sun is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, where he earned his medical degree and a doctorate in basic science mechanisms of epilepsy. He completed a neurosurgical residency and clinical fellowship in epilepsy and movement disorder neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Sun’s clinical focuses include the surgical management of epilepsy; brain, pituitary and spine tumors; endoscopic neurosurgery; hydrocephalus; and other cranial pathology. Dr. Sun has pioneered the use of several surgical innovations at Norton Healthcare, including NeuroBlate, NeuroPace and ROSA robotic technology, enabling Norton Healthcare to offer the newest treatments to patients. Dr. Sun has been voted by his peers as one of Louisville Magazine’s Top Docs for 2019.

Very knowledgeable, professional, understanding with his patients. Also gives them peace of mind on any questions or concerns the patients may have. I wouldn't want any other surgeon working on my family. I think he's the best!
