1: Billl, the man to walked me through the warehouse, was absolutely specific about what were the best buys and what were not.

2: The delivery men were on time, and courteous.

3: If you're looking for the lowest prices, you certainly cannot expect the best product.

Now, true, everybody's experience is different. But my experience with american freight on Waterson Trail was great.

Good luck!

I would never shop at this store simply because of the commercials!!! Every time one comes on the TV I can feel my blood pressure rising. They simply disgust me!

Don't ever shop at this store, they are cons, I had bought 2 twin mattresses we were redoing both bedrooms, I wanted to return one of them because we ended up making one an office but they wouldnt return it even though it hadnt been used, they are rip offs with cheap, cheap furnitue, save your money and get something that will last!

We went into the Columbus East store right after getting a sales ad to look at the King size mattress sets and were told that the only ones in stock were several hundred dollars above the $500-$600 we planned on spending because all the ones on sale were “out of stock and would not be in for a few weeks. So I said to my husband “we’ll just get the recliner…” and the salesman quickly interrupted our conversation to rudely tell us that they were out of all the recliners to and they would take a week to get. I was taken back and “said you don’t have the recliners either? And the ad isn’t even three days old?” he rudely replied “Like I JUST TOLD YOU, they will take a week to get in!” The salesman not only looked and dressed with a serious lack of professionalism, his personal hygiene left quite a bit to be desired. My husband and I just left and do not plan to return to American Freight or any of its affiliates. By the way, the store website also requires you to give your e-mail and phone number in order to contact them with a complaint. I can see the name and maybe even the e-mail, but a phone number too. Not OK.

I have been reading the review...

I have been reading the reviews for American Freight Furniture in Louisville, KY and I had just gone there today and wanted to do some research before making the huge purchase I am planning on doing for my household.

I am a little leary now with all the negative reviews I am reading and part of the purchase I was planning on contains a mattress I am wanting to buy and they are the only ones that sell it. This disturbs me that a company has this many negative reviews out there and can still sell without the Better Business Bureau stepping in or are these not legitimate complaints because if so they would have been filed with the local BBB.

I don't want to go back if I have to fight with the purchase of what I want, get it delivered or if something has to be returned getting my money back either by a refund or store credit.

I also noticed a recent posting by "American Freight" itself stating that changes have been made and gave contact info and reasurrance of better service. Should I or shouldn't I now?

NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!!

My mom purchased a matress that turned out to be to big for the room. I was unable to call or go to the store as I went out of town. I called a week later and was told no refunds store credit only. She had found a twin bed with a frame for free from a friend. She didn't need anything else so she put it towards a recliner for me. I went in and paid it off and asked for the chair and was informed they didn't have one in. I was also informed that they have up to 30 days AFTER PAYMENT IN FULL to get me my chair. I was rudely informed to call back in a week. I did....still no chair......they will call me when it gets in. The employee I spoke with was very rude from the start. I always thought that when you pay for a layaway it was yours and should be there when you go to get it. Who is responsible for these people and stores? Who do you complain to about the problems? I just want my money back or my chair. Why should I have to wait when they have all their money?

wish i would have read the reviews 1st

Never again will I buy from this store. I wish I would have read the reviews before I shopped. My experience: I have a daughter who was getting married to an Air force solider and I waned to purchase a living room set and dinning room set for them. They were being station in CA and we bought most of the stuff and were to pick it up the day before the movers were to come. I paid for the couch loveseat and decided to pay for the rest when we returned. Everything was in the warehouse we was told and would be ready for pick when we needed. The day before the movers were to pick up their house hold goods to be shipped to CA we returned to store for our purchase to hear it was out of stock, well we would be happy to take the ones off the floor and was told they could not let us have furniture off the floor because it was there for customers to look at to make purchases and would cause them lose sells. Ok well we needed their stuff for the movers to pack or just give us our money back and they could purchase something when they arrived to CA, NO their policy no refunds. Thank GOD I didn’t pay for everything, we did finally get a couch and loveseat, not the ones they had first picked but that’s the only choice we had. Never again will I be put in a spot like that, and believe me every chance I get working with Military at Ft. Knox I tell everyone my story recommend any store but American Fright

Deceptive Sales. Crappy quality.

I have bought a few things from them and most has been fine (kitchen chairs fell apart tho after a week's use). The 2 mattresses we've bought from them varied GREATLY from what you test out on the floor and have been junk.

We first bought the NordicRest memory foam bed because I have fibromyalgia and I needed a bed that was medium firm/firm yet soft to lay on so I wasn't getting poked by springs. The queen sized one on the floor was heaven to lay on, the sides didn't crush to nothing when you got out you didn't sink into a hole either. The king sized one we had delivered was completely the opposite. T

he sides crush down to about 3" thick when you get out and the hole you sink into has caused my hubby and I both to have back trouble now. Went back after a month, still within warranty, and was told "You should have bought the OrthoChiro", they refused to take back the other mattress and while laughing at me told me to come back when I had another $300 for the OrthoChiro.

I went into full flair up with the Fibro so my hubby grudgingly went back to them, talked to the manager and found out our sales guy had been fired for deceptive practices but we still had to pay for a new mattress and they still wouldn't take the other one back -because- of the fired employees withholding info that caused us to void our warranty.

The OrthoChiro is no better. Another piece of junk. We've flushed aprox $1000 on matresses here in 6 months. Don't bother. Oh and the OrthoChiro couldn't be returned the DAY AFTER PURCHASE because if you read the fine print closely that you can't see until AFTER purchase, you can only return mattresses sold in sets.

Go to a real mattress store. You might pay $1000 for a set but it's not garbage like American Freight's. We're looking at paying out another $1300. This has been an expensive financial hit with me being out on disability and unable to work, in part because of the crappy NordicRest. Oh and they wouldn't take back the crappy kitchen chairs either.

Never Again, Don't Do It Just Walk Away!

Went into the Watterson Trail Location on Feb. 20th gave them 800.00 cash for a leather sectional, and 4 weeks later, after lot's of phone calls, lot's of wasted hold time, hearing lot's of lies from all the employees there including the manager(or the person who claimed to be one). Finally Got My couch I paid my hard earned money for. I called numerous times trying to get them to just give me a honest answer of when my couch was going to be in and could not get one. I spent more time on hold trying to get someone to not blow smoke up my ***. The Manager and ALL employees do not have a honest bone in there entire body. When we first paid for the couch they said they would call us when it came in, be about 5 days or so. Try 30 days! Why they can't just say that I have no idea! I would rather be told 30 days, and it be the truth, then lead me on and avoid the phone calls and questions for 30 days. When they tell you they dont sell floor models, well thats a crock of poo too. They tried to give us the floor model and I said heck NO, I did not just pay 800.00 to you for a couch that has been used by all on the floor.. Just put it this way. You get what you pay for, it's not worth the headache, the place does not know how to treat a customer, and take your money somewhere else, you will thank yourself in the long run.

Great Prices!!!

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of the ads, but the prices in this place are amazing. I now see why the guy on T.V. is so excited. I got a sofa and loveseat for only $298. What a deal!!! If you want to spend more money they have really nice couches that are a little more expensive, but still a lot less than anyone else around. I left very happy, and would recommend this place to all my friends and family.

MAD

We bought a Memory Foam Mattress from american Frieght on Watterson trail. When we brought it home we removed the plastic and unzipped the outer velor liner to wash it before we set it up. To our surprise we found two large yellow stains and dirt covering one side of the Foam Mattress. We immediately called the manager to report this and return the mattress. The company refused to refund our money and would not order us a new mattress. The manager said we should have fully inspected this before we bought it. We informed him it is illegal to sell a used Mattress to a consumer. This company has questionable products, and terrible management.

what a lousy business

i was referred by a friend who obviously had a better experience than me. i bought my furniture over two weeks ago and i still am waiting on my chest. when the delivery drivers finally got around to delivering my items i was missing my chest. they gave me a full size headboard when i payed for a twin. i also recieved two dressers instead of the chest. when i called the employees acted as if they were ignorant to the fact. the manager offered no help when i called to complaine, in fact he told me to call back because he was unaware of the situation. this place may save some money, but you get what you pay for.
