Awesome!

This is a great spot to enjoy a smooth lager and good company.

I love their slightly kitschy "beer garden" section in back. The food is heavy, as you might expect of German cuisine (schnitzel, sausages), but early on it's a decent place to bring kids (who will enjoy the giant soft pretzel on the menu).

They have my favorite German beer (Flensberger!) and the food was fantastic! I've lived in Germany, so I'm always on the hunt for some good German-esque food, and this was the spot!

Great atmosphere and amazing German beers served perfectly. The potato pancakes are really amazing.

This a great local bar! Awesome German beers and food. You have to try the sausages and the potato pancakes!

The 'Red Lion' is an LA/Silver Lake institution. Good German food and drink with German expats and local Silver Lake/Echo Park bohemians rubbing shoulders and having a good time.



It can get mighty crowded on weekends so try and schedule your first visit there for a weeknight or earlier in the day.



Almost always an interesting crowd (including the waitresses) and a reliable menu (besides the sausage platter which is a nice treat for drinking parties try the fish and chips, and the steak tartar).



Have to recommend for Sunday brunch too.

Authentic taste and feel of Germany! Hearty German food: brats, schnitzel, wursts, and lots and lots of German beer. 3 levels with bars, including a covered biergarten in the back. Fun!
