I am most familiar with one of the firm's most recent projects - Desert Houses - and I was blown away by their design. Few firms can work so well simultaneously at the conceptual and practical level, creating both beautiful and functional buildings.



Desert Houses, in specific, is incredible because it tackels a wide range of architecture "like-to-haves" while far exceeding the requirements for the project. The 18 home master plan creates a series of beautiful prototypes that are specially suited for the mojave desert landscape whose designs are both unique and uniquely functional. At the same time, the project addresses issues that the architectural design industry should - but all too often does not - including minimizing environmental impacts through innovative siting, utilizing the natural topography, and using prevailing wind patterns to aid in ventilation. The project could not have come out better.



After reviewing the firms other varies projects, I can honestly say say that in a few years, this is going to be the firm to beat, particularly in southern california.
