I like to take my 5 year old to see animals. The animals are sometimes hard to see/find in their habitats. The zoo is very hilly and makes for a good without. I don't like how from the entrance to the animals there's so much walking, it wears my son out before we even get to the animals.

Love my local zoo. There were, however, several areas that were empty of animals. Lots of repair and crew work going on including to the kids play area which was closed off. Family memberships are totally worth it.

Great place to go with kids or even just the adults. They have a variety of animals & a shuttle that you can take around. They have multiple places to eat located in the different areas. I just wish there was more signage around. I've been so many times & yet I still get turned around easily.

They recently put a Dino area in. It's very cute & fun. They also have events throughout the year. Some are members only, but it's neat to go.

Love coming to this Zoo with my family. The Lair is always a favorite and the small ice cream stand just before the marketplace is our last stop each visit for the best ice cream cones in the zoo. They even have a Starbucks, but beware it is not a full Starbucks and it's not open first thing in the morning as you might expect.

The LA Zoo is a fun place for the whole family to enjoy! I love all of the updates and new exhibits, but I would like to see an update to the food as well. Not everyone packs a lunch or wants a cheeseburger or chicken strips. A few of the smaller places never seem to be open when we are there.

Love the zoo! Our favorite thing is the Condor center which is open on weekends and Fridays. We're also very excited about the Australia nocturnal house being open again. It's come a long way with the new lair and rainforest of the Americas. It's a great zoo!

The membership pricing is very inexpensive, I love how big this place is, not a fan of the hills and bummed that a lot of the animals are in hiding. The new Elephant exhibition is a must, wish they let us feed Giraffes.membership appreciation nights a fun but very crowded.

A bit dated, but they're making improvements and putting in some new exhibits. I suggest getting here as soon as the place opens in the morning, because later in the day the place becomes, well, a ZOO.

I have such great memories at the zoo with my boy. We came every weekend for 2-3 years. Great place to get some exercise while walking around.

Great place to take the kids! My daughter loves watching the animals and especially enjoys the petting zoo. On the weekends it can be quite busy; however, there are several volunteer offering close up experiences with small animals such as lizards and hedgehogs. On top of all that they serve beer.

I like the fact that the elephant enclosure is really big but some of the other animal enclosures seem rather small. The day we came, the poor leopard was pacing back and forth and did not seem comfortable. As an artist that draws animals, I like coming here to sketch rather than looking at pictures on the web. It’s still a nice zoo with a lot of beautiful flora.

The zoo has been under construction for a while due to the new elephant exhibit (finally open, yay!), so I can only give it 3 stars at the moment because of some of the crowding. But overall this is a really nice zoo. The new elephant habitat is huge. The Red Ape Forest (orangutans) is a fantastic space with so many viewing opportunities. The zoo keepers are really knowledgeable and accessible, and they'll come out and do feedings during regular hours. Case in point: the hippo. We saw the hippo's jaws open wide and the zoo keeper dump about a dozen apples down his gullet (one at a time, of course), plus a melon. Pretty cool!

And I have to give a shout out to the food. Churros and pizza used to be pretty much all you could get. But recently I had a very good -- and healthy -- grilled chicken sandwich with good fries. For not that expensive. Makes a big difference!

Yes, some of the exhibits are a bit dated. But overall this is a well kept, nice zoo with a lot of great animals who seem to be happy enough to be relatively active when folks are visiting.
