If you are looking for a great preschool in a very fun and cool, safe, learning environment,then this school is perfect for you. I would say if I could I would love to keep my child at this school until she was 6 but I know that is impossible. My child has been at This school since January of this year 2011, and has already taught my child so much. The great part about the school is my child has learned everything based on having fun. Now what kid wouldn't love that?nnw



Andrea and Nancy have taken alot of games, and role playing, music, and arts and crafts, along with many more and has shown that learning does not need to be boring.



Some of the kids that have just previously left for kindergarden can already read and write many words, and that is incredible at the age of 5 years old. With school systems these days its hard to get that one on one teaching, so having your child at preschool like this is great for their social skills later on and confidence.



I say if you are looking right now for a preschool then you really need to take a tour and have your child have a day to experience this preschool, as I think you will be amazed with how fun of enviornment it is.



Also, the great part about it if your child is in diapers and still need some work on the potty training this is a great place for them to start as they are very accepting and will help.



I am glad i found this preschool and I know you will be to.

Creative Learning Preschool is a gem of a preschool on the Westside. We feel very fortunate to have found it in the midst of so many preschool choices in Los Angeles. Both of our sons have attended and had a wonderful experience. It is a safe and nurturing environment, with a high teacher-to-child ratio. The children are allowed to be themselves, while learning to problem-solve and negotiate. Our oldest son went to Andrea’s for a year and a half before starting Kindergarten. Our youngest has now been there for 2 ½ years and still looks forward to going to school every day.



Andrea has a sincere and unique passion for teaching, which is apparent by the amount of time and energy she puts into planning the various themes for the children. Our 4-year old son has learned details about the human body, insects, plants, etc., that many children do not learn about until science class in elementary school. The themes are taught through fun and creative methods, including free-play, books, art projects, field trips, etc., which not only reinforces what is being taught, but, also allows for different types of learners to comprehend the information.



The children are learning to read and write through their daily activities, games, etc. Andrea also teaches to a wide range of skill levels and ages. Our oldest is in 3rd grade, so, we have seen what is expected of Kindergartners and know that by the time our youngest son starts Kindergarten, he will be more than prepared. The children who attend Creative Learning have a tremendous head start when they begin elementary school.

Ever have a day reserved for your kid, and you imagine all the cool, stimulating things you could do with him or her, and all the important life lessons you're going to impart, and how the day is going to be wonderful and magical for your kid? Then the day comes around, and you spend half your time picking up toys, driving some place overpriced, and inevitably getting into some emotional standoff with your kid? Then you think, man, if only I had planned everything out a little better and been a little more patient... Andrea's school is just like how I would parent if I could devote my life to it. She gives my son the days I wish I could provide every day.



She perfectly combines academic preparation, creative play, and developing social skills. She has endless patience and it's clear she loves what she's doing.



In our case, our son came to Andrea's from an extremely academic public pre-K in Brooklyn. While he learned a lot of literacy, I knew I wanted something that would foster individuality, love of learning, and most importantly, the ability to get along with others. He gets all that with Andrea.



Academically, she puts together fun little themes that last for a week or two. e.g.: snakes, birds, plants, food, families, etc. She then approaches the subject from multiple angles -- in the kid's art, in writing exercises, pretend play, reading to them, and so on. It's really great to see my son get all excited about something.



I also really like her approach to literacy and math: namely, she sneaks it into her other activities. If they're drawing a picture of a bakery, she has them write out "cookies," then count them up. She also has them play a lot of games that involve counting and math, for example, dreidle, in which kids add, subtract, and divide by two.



She also has a great music teacher who comes in twice a week.



But the most important thing for me is her focus on social skills. Real social skills, not just obedience (like in my son's pre-K program). She really gets them to consider each other's feelings. She's all about negotiation and compromise, and is very accommodating of different types of personalities. She often alters her plans for the day to according to the mood of the group (e.g., if the kids are really into being outside, then they stay outside for longer, even if it means postponing some activity she had planned). She herself is very empathetic, and has a way of evading power struggles with kids. Situations don't escalate, they get diffused.



Honestly, my only regret is that we weren't able to spend more time at her school. Seriously, all the kids there are "switched on" -- curious, active, engaged, cool.

My daughter stayed at this school for about 2 years. She was fully prepared for the Kindergarten after Andrea's school. Teachers were very friendly, like my own family. Andrea uses her biology background to teach kids about science and nature. Her enthusiasm of teaching kids is amazing and I feel she is tireless.



School is well-organized, and gives kids a lot of possibilities in learning. From planting, harvesting, making orange juice, to dancing, music, and introducing different cultures, she did an amazing job to kids!



My daughter learns how to be social in the school and make friends, and learns how to share their favors with other kids. This experience she had tremendously benefits what he does in the current school.



I know that choosing a right school for your kid might be hard. But this is a type of school your kid should not miss.
