This place doens't even deserve one star! They have no customer service and the most disgusting car selection I have ever seem ANYWHERE in the world. Our car was full of stains inside and scratches everywhere outside, and it had over 90K miles, on a rental car! Not to mention they rented us an unsafe vehicle with broken break lights, broken headlights, and broken bright lights, plus one of the tire sensors was on. When we called about our concerns they did nothing, didn't even try to help. Oh, and their "free airport pick-up" is them utilizing the Hilton's shuttle service which is down the street.

I and my wife had planned a trip to visit famous places in Southern California. From the rental to the pick and drop off, the Atwest car rental process was seamless and efficient. I have already recommended Atwest to friends and family. Fast and easy booking. All around great experience

I had a great experience with most economical Atwest Car rental service. They were very friendly, efficient, professional, and I got a very nice my choice of car. I will definitely rent from them again and recommend them to my friends as well. Good job guys!!

I found Atwest Rent A Car an acceptable experience but it came with some scares.



The guy that picked me up at LAX was about 30 min's late and showed up outside the departure lvl in a non-descript rental car (the guy must be really good at spotting customers in the crowd that are starting to look panicky).



Atwest: Please invest in @ least 1 magnetic peel n' stick Atwest Car sign for the passenger side door: ($30).



The actual rental went quickly but I was offered an upgrade that was recinded 30 sec's later and was then offered an immediate downgrade. I did end up with an acceptable car shortly thereafter though.



At one point during the rental the car wouldn't start...the positive batt. terminal cable was not tight...I fixed it fast enough myself.



The Return was fairly uneventful. Returned the car 15 mins late but then had to wait 15 mins for counter service - so a wash.



They do put a $300 hold (above the rental charge) on your debit card and

it takes 2 weeks for this hold to clear.

Horrible Just Horrible!!!!!!!

I would give them -5 stars if I could.

My family and I planned a road trip to Vegas.I took the bus there and they gave me wrong directions on where to get off. So I called to have them pick me up from the Westin since I had walked so far. I took them 45 min to get me. The guy gave me a Camry and I didn't make a hour before we noticed the car shook when braking. I called to let them know. I was told they didn't have anymore cars and if I came back they would put it in the shop and I could wait for it . I asked for a refund,the guy said they couldn't reverse the charges . They had over $500 dollars of my money!

So upset I went back. They had a gas guzzling Town Car when I got there. It looked like his personal car. The office manger tells me he upgraded me for free. ( yeah right!)

We were in traffic 5 hours because of our late start and that car took $75 to fill up.During my trip I called to find out was I to bring the car back the same time as I picked up the second carwhich was 12pm he tells me no I needed to return it by 10am the time I got the first car or pay another day worth of fees.. I asked for his manager he tells me he is at the other office. I call the other office and he answers that phone too! OMG! When I returned the car they tried to charge me an extra 18 dollar for gas on the first car. I exploded!How the hell do I owe gas on your car when it broke down on me! After cussing everyone out he tells me he would wave the fee this time (such BS)

I ended up paying for another day and extras gas. I was out of pocket an extra $150 dollars and still never met the manager or spoke to them.

Don't give this Micky Mouse operation your money. They run everything from on cell phone and their customer service sucks!

Average Economy car with good mileage

Located close to airport.

Cons :

Late pickup, i mean very late call them couple of times, its the same person who pick up and manages the office.

Drop off in building parking at non office hours.



Overall - It was worth waiting.

As a single woman business traveler in my 60s, I am conscious of security. Yes, as others correctly noted, they pick you up at the departures level at LAX and look for you by the clothes you are wearing. Having told me that they would arrive in a in a red car and showing up in a gold car started the "suspicions" going. They brought me back to their 1 man shabby office down the street and around the corner from the Hilton. Having gone over the confirm form completely, I read :

"Hours of Operation

LA Hours of Operation are 8am to 7pm Mon-Fri. and 9am to 6pm weekends and holidays. Office hours can be extended to 11pm with 24 hr advance reservation. 24 hour drop off-off can be arranged upon request when picking up the car."

I had meetings that were extending until 6:30pm on Friday, about 45 minutes away from LA and asked if somebody could be available when I came in with the car around 8pm. The confirm stated that the hours can be extended to 11pm with 24 advance reservation. This was a Tuesday and I wanted a Friday extension. NO, it isn't going to happen. They say that nothing else is happening that evening (so I think "Good, they can be here") but their "can" be extended was a 'won't be' unless there was more money to be made...Not a courtesy extension!

HERE IS WHAT THEY WANTED ME TO DO! Pull into the parking structure down the block from their office and get a ticket to place on the dashboard. Do a U-turn in the structure and find parking slot 27, 29,30 or 31. Pull the car all the way in and do not block any cars. Drop the keys off in the grey metal box at slot 29. Leave the structure with my 50 lbs of luggage and drag it down the seedy looking block and alley to go to the Hilton and catch their shuttle to the airport."

I asked if they had arrangements with the Hilton. NO. It was dark, seedy and a foreseeable bad and uncomfortable move on my part to do that. I had the foresight and the pleasure of talking to Linda Cain, an event planner in LA and she told me to pull up to the entrance of one of the hotels nearby and ask the front cab to follow me to the parking structure, wait and then take me to the airport. That was the best $15 I could have spent.

In these days, small guys have the ability to build a terrific business if they focus on customer service...tis the pity nobody told them!

Never, ever rent there. And tell your friends. I told the concierge at the Waterfront Hilton in Huntington Beach and she was mortified. I will continue to spread the word.
