Goodwill collects donated clothing and household goods and then sells these items in more than 2,000 retail stores throughout North America and abroad. The company generates revenue by helping community-based businesses fill gaps caused by labor shortages and time constraints. The charity trains and employs industrial and service contract workers to fill outsourced needs for packaging, assembly, mailing, custodial work, grounds keeping and other occupations. General Motors, Briggs & Stratton, and the United States Navy, Marines, Air Force and Army are among those who have tapped into Goodwill s services. Additionally, more than 105,000 people have been placed in jobs outside of Goodwill. Goodwill Industries has a location in Longview, Wash.

The prices at ALL Goodwill Sto...

The prices at ALL Goodwill Stores have more than doubled over the pat year. I notice that they have a thriving online auction site as well as EBAY. They are catering to the "Estate Sale/Antique Store owner's" and are forgetting their loyal store shoppers. What a pity! They do not realise that treasure hunting is all that most people can afford, but it is a lot fun looking for those treasures. I have heard so many people comment about the ridiculous prices and purchase nothing that I know I am not the only dedicated Goodwill shopper that feels dumped. I mean Goodwill is moving on UP and so are the prices! Who goes to a thrift shop to spend 250$ on a rug? I am not making this up. They price used things just a little less than Walmart. The managers in some of the store, BattleGround to be specific, go over return items as though you purchased a tux for one night, wore it, and now are returning it saying it doesn't fit! Olright already! I have no disire to drive 30 miles just to ripoff a thrift store (in store credits only) not worth the price of gas! I hate to bad mouth a business that I have shopped at for years but I would honestly like to know how this 'Thrift Store" gets away with being an online auction with outragous shipping rates and how long they will have store locations for us peasents? BB&B started as on OUTLET store in NY. Went national. Forgot their client base. Haven't had a good quarter for three years! Closing many stores. I hate to say I told you so but Goodwill, your playing to wrong audience.
