The Laurel Luncheonette & Restaurant, once neighbor to the Laurel Theater and birth place of the Cherry Lime Rikki soft drink, has been serving the public since 1932. Its nearly 80 year streak is a testament to the degree of customer satisfaction and loyalty which has kept the Laurel in operation for so long. It is a place where many Long Beach residents have fond, memorable experiences making an unofficial institution of the city of Long Beach that every visitor must see, and one where families come for home a cooked meal, served by a friendly staff, at reasonable prices. The Laurel—it has a rich history, but an even richer future. With a more diversified menu (serving breakfast, lunch and dinner), and talented, personable personnel, the Laurel is not only a place of “old memories”, it has once again become the place to go for great local fare. If you’re ever in town, come, stop by, and see why all of the locals and returning summer beach visitors love the Laurel. The Laurel Luncheonette & Restaurant, once neighbor to the Laurel Theater and birth place of the Cherry Lime Rikki soft drink, has been serving the public since 1932. Best Diner in Long Beach!

Although the Laurel as Luncheonette in its title, its menu is definitely that of a Diner's. They're open for breakfast, lunch dinner, and late - so no matter what time your looking for a good home cooked meal at a really reasonable price (because Long Beach has some pricey places) this is a great place that all the locals go to. My favorite foods at the Laurel are: 1. Breakfast, the pumpkin pancakes (they rock - much tastier than IHOP's). 2. For lunch: I really love their Lido Spring Mix salad with Chicken (I love the pieces of blue cheese, granny smith apples and the raspberry vinaigrette dressing) 3. And for dinner I'm torn between their Lamb Shank Youvetsi over Orzo special (only on Thursday nights) and the ribeye steak topped with melted blue cheese butter (yeah I love blue cheese) along with a cold Sam Adams brew. I love this place. Yeah it might be old (I think its been there since 1932) but the guys who own it run a tight ship over there. Its deifinitely the best value in Long Beach.
