Founded in 1971, the Felician School for Exceptional Children provides educational and therapeutic services to eligible students. The school has been licensed by the New Jersey State Department of Education. The Felician School for Exceptional Children has designed its program on the basis of the Elsmere Project, which is a vocational program for developmentally disabled students aged between 3 and 21. The school s curriculum focuses on the development of functional academic, social, independent living, personal and vocational skills. The Felician School for Exceptional Children also coordinates a variety of on-the-job training programs. It organizes several types of extracurricular activities, including bell choir, shopping trips, bowling, science and art fairs, and talent and variety shows.
