Worst customer service

I bought a vanity light fixture from a friendly saleswoman. When I asked her about refund policy, she told me I cannot wire the fixture in order to return. I can only raise it above the mirror to see if it fits. So we handled it very carefully the next day when we tried to install it. But we found all wires were worn significantly. It must have been used for quite a while. I called the store to see if I can exchange. But a salesman told me they had only one without even asking which model I bought. Then he said he need to check their inventory after I questioned him. A couple of minutes later, Jennifer the manager, told me in a rude tone “I don’t understand what you are saying”. I went back to the store to show them the used wires. They still didn’t want to admit saying that’s what they got from the manufacturer. With no hesitation, I returned the light fixture.

I needed to return outdoor lig...

I needed to return outdoor light fixutres (3) that my electricians had taken out of the boxes to install, but realized they would not mount properly on round pillars. They put them back in the boxes and when I returned them, the store manager "Jennifer", proceeded to raise her voice and tell me how disgusting they were packaged and that my home garbage was inside the boxes. She threw the garbage on the counter in front of me and I expected it to be rotten food, but it was only (2 one inch pcs. of wiring from the electricians). I became flustered and could not find my receipt. I tried to remain calm as she would not stop ranting about how poorly they were repackaged and she asked me how I was to expect them to resell lights so poorly repackaged. I advised I needed to go home and get the receipt. She said loudly, "I will think about if I EVEN WANT to give you credit while you're gone!!!" Upon returning she advised I could only have store credit. I had paid $300 total, but only got credit for $187.00 as she said the light bulbs were in the wrong boxes. I've never seen or witnessed a "manager" treating a customer SO disrepectfully. What type of an establishment would continue to employ someone who clearly has issues and takes it out on the customers. Time to find a new job. When I exited the store, I ripped up my credit, thanked the dear lord for a beautiful sunshiny day and offered up a prayer for "Jennifer", clearly a disturbed person. Those lights were very neatly replaced in their boxes, I couldn't have done it any neater, and all of the screws and mounting brackets were still in their unopened packages except for one that was used to mount one light which determined they would not fit properly.

I went in and asked if they had dimmer lamps. They didn't, but they had dimmers to plug the lamp into which would allow me to dim the lamp.
The sales lady told me that one type of dimmer was for lamps with a metal base, which we didn't have. So I bought the other dimmer.
But when I got home and plugged it in, the lamp didn't dim, it blinked.
So I called the store, and the person asked what kind of bulb was in the lamp. Apparently the dimmer only worked with certain types of light bulbs. I turned over the package and saw where it said that. The person said I could bring the dimmer in, and if it was defective, I could return it, but not because of it not being compatible with the bulbs. I told him that the sales person hadn't mentioned the bulbs to me, and he asked if I wanted to speak with a manager, which I did.
The manager repeated that the dimmer only worked with certain types of bulbs, and that I could replace the ones in the lamp. I told her that the lamp was from Ikea, and had 8 bulbs on the inside. I said that the sales person had mentioned the requirement for the other dimmer to go with a lamp with a metal base, but hadn't mentioned the bulb requirement for the other dimmer. The manager rudely said I should have read the packaging.
Never going there again, ever.

Stay away from this place. We have purchased thousands of dollars of lighting from this place over the years. Recently my wife purchased multiple chandeliers and lighting fixtures that were special order. When they arrived, we were told they fixtures were checked and are all great. A few weeks later we take them completely out of the box (Keep in mind they are large) and one had a significant discoloration on it that looks like mold that will not clean off. Told by Brose staff its not their problem since we left the store. Not only are they rude, they have no interest in having satisfied clients. Even our electrician said this is common with Brose. Will NEVER buy anything from there again!

I was not able to get help from the sales staff while waiting at the desk. When I asked to speak to the manager she was very rude. I walked out of the store and will purchase from a different store. Will never go back.

The RUDEST people I have ever dealt with. I had heard rumors and read all the nightmare reviews but thought I would give them a try and quickly discovered what was wrong with this place. I walked in on a Tuesday morning to look around and I was the only one there (never a good sign) when I couldn't help but overhear the two older sales woman carrying on about male genitalia at level which anyone could have heard all the while having been totally ignored when I walked in. Needless to say this place is in serious need of class and some Dale Carnegie courses however I must say if it weren't for that I may not have discovered ray lighting in novi where they understand capitalism and wanted my money and we're very friendly.

Several years ago I spent over...

Several years ago I spent over $600 at this store to renovate our basement. At the time of the purchase the sales person was helpful and our special order came in as scheduled. I installed all of the fixtures but like a lot of things other priorities came up and we laid off of the project for a few years. Now wrapping it up I go to install one of the halogen bulbs only to discover that they are all the wrong size of base (10 of them all wrong). I was told by the manager that they could not do anything for me. All but one of the bulbs were in original box with their price sticker on them, and were picked out by their employee, and they made profit on the sale for something they picked out when they were helping with the light fixture selection. Nothing they can do to correct their ERROR! They could be last place to have light bulbs and I'd go to the store and buy candles

I beg to differ, my family has been shopping at the brose family stores since the detroit store 60 years ago and they have been doing business longer than that so they must be doing something right to still be relevant and jam packed every time I go in there,In regards to customer service they have no equal.When remodeling our house which is just down the road from the livonia store we bought our new fixtures there and just like when we did our house in redford 35 years ago every item was checked for missing parts and broken glass.When I asked what i can safely clean the fixtures with I was told only warm water and dish soap because most cleaners would destroy the finish,but I felt it my responsibility to ask.It upsets me as a suporter of small business to see a few dishonest people who can't admit fault support home depot but try and bring down the little guy.If you have the sense to go to brose instead just ask for Ryan and i'm sure he'll make it as pleasant for you as he did for us.

Worst customer service I've EVER experienced! A few years ago we purchased 3 rather pricey bathroom light fixtures which have all experienced severe corrosion and pitting. We brought one fixture into the store asking if they have ever seen this and if we might be able to receive even a modest store credit towards new fixtures. The woman behind the desk essentially "sniffed" at our request and said we should have brought it in within one year to receive any credit (never mind that the corrosion started after 2 years). When I offered to leave the fixture with her so the store could dispose of it, she replied "take your garbage with you and leave the store". I could not believe a salesperson would express this attitude toward a customer.

Brose Electric Livonia - Poor Customer Service

Brose Electric has extremely poor customer service. I purchased a chandelier for my dining room from Brose. When I went to put it up, one of the glass globes was broken. I called and spoke to the office manager who told me I must have broke it and it would cost me $25.00 for a new one. When I asked to speak to the owner, she hung up on me. When I called back she told me to quit harrassing her!! This place is good at taking your money, but once your out the door your on your own!! I would rather shop someplace that stands behind their products.

Excellent lighting store

This is my favorite lighting store. They didn't have the exact lamp I was looking for but ordered it for me. Quality and variety!
