We needed an appraisal for a house we are selling. Valuation Consultants did a great job. They arrived a bit early for the walk through (Mind you! I'm not complaining. Most companies arrive hours late these days, if at all). Walk through was thorough and professional. We got the appraisal back in about 9 days. I would use them again. Fee is about the same as most Appraisers. They did advise me that we didn't need the more expensive appraisal that they and other companies offer. One is more complex and is strictly for obtaining a Mortgage. They took the time to explain the difference to me. I appreciate their honesty and that they saved me about $150.00 over the other two companies I contacted.

Those other companies didn't even tell me about the lesser expensive appraisal even though they knew we were selling and only needed the simpler appraisal

I recently had an appraisal done by Bob Hynek from Valuation Consultants and was very displeased. He failed to uses similar homes when determining the value of our home, and when I requested an appeal that included homes more comparable to ours, he was stubborn and unwilling to listen. Fortunately we had a 2nd appraisal done of our home that came in much higher. Buyer beware with this appraiser/company.
