MISSION STATEMENT   The mission of The Ducere Learning Center is to provide a nurturing child care environment for children from six weeks to 12 years of age. The Ducere Learning Center supports families by partnering with parents in the care and education of their young children. Warm and caring professional staff maintain a positive atmosphere where children are cared for and respected. The Center offers learning experiences which promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.   PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY   Children are "Learning Today for a Better Tomorrow."   This belief is carried out by giving all children opportunities to learn, based on their unique learning styles and natural-given talents. The child care space is designed to allow children to express themselves through art, math, reading, science, and other learning experiences.   The environment at The Ducere Learning Center emphasizes that each child is different. We treat children in ways that meet their individual needs. The daily schedule offers a variety of opportunities for children to learn according to their interests and abilities. Our staff are there to provide guidance and emotional support and to assist the children in making the most of their learning experiences.   The Ducere Learning Center recognizes that parents are first in their child’s life and that all parents want the best for their child. Opportunities are provided for parents to be involved in the center according to their time and interests. Some parent involvement options include helping with field trips or being on the Advisory Board. The Ducere Learning Center understands that parents have busy and hectic lives. Our goal is to provide the best possible support to parents through our partnership in the child’s care.   Parent Involvement   We encourage parents to be involved in their child’s early education; therefore, each center creates a Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) which allows parents to participate in center planning and events to benefit the overall quality of the program. Some of the group’s initiatives include: fundraising, special events, teacher recognition and development, community service projects, center enhancements and networking with other families.

Commitment to Fitness Obesity is a serious health concern for children and adolescents. Results from the 2007-2008 National Health Examination Survey (NHANES) indicate that an estimated 17 percent of children and adolescents between the age of 2 and 19 are obese. (The Center for Disease Control) Aware of the growing epidemic of childhood obesity, we have initiated a commitment that will have a positive effect on every child that comes into our care. Each center implements a Movement and Sports Program which contains a set curriculum which is implemented by the center staff. The curriculum outlines healthy eating practices and nutrition, gross motor safety practices and an introduction to a variety of sports such as soccer, tennis, basketball, golf and tee ball. Each center utilizes a designated gross motor room or gymnasium for the program. The focus of the Movement and Sports program is to help children gain control over large and small muscles, provide environmental exposure and guide reflexes and muscle memory. Incorporating P.L.A.Y. into the program allows our focus to be fulfilled. P-Planned Activities The program utilizes the use of different sports, dances and customs from all over the world to not only keep children active but to also broaden their multicultural horizon. L-Learn About How our Body Works Hydration, healthy eating habits and general exercise are guidance topics of teaching children about how our body works. Every planned activity offers a chance to discuss the body’s actions. A-Achievement A sense of achievement will help build children’s confidence. Through the use of observation, teachers are able to track and create assessments of each child’s physical growth. With every milestone a child reaches, a sense of accomplishment and pride is sure to follow. Y-Year-Round Programming Hibernation is only good for bears, not children! With the ability to utilize great rooms, gymnasiums and playgrounds, our programming can be consistent and year-round
